Throwing back to July 2011, 3 Doors Down released their fifth studio album, Time Of My Life. The album did extremely well, selling nearly 60,000 copies in its first week alone, and debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 charts. It also reached number one on the Billboard Rock Albums, Hard Rock albums, and number two on the Billboard Digital albums, and in Germany. It received world wide success, charting in the top 70 in 9 countries total, including the US. The lead single for the album, "When You're Young" came out on January 10, 2011, and sets up the vibe for the entire album very well. The song speaks of feeling trapped and having people try to make you something you're not. We can't help but feel like its a reflection of life as you get older, which is something anyone who's a little bit older can relate to. You reflect a lot, and see how much things change. Something that seems like the end of the world really isn't, but you don't see that when you're young. One interesting thing that we just felt like mentioning to see if anyone else noticed it, first few cords in the song sound almost identical to those in the beggining of their classic, "When You're Gone." To some, that may be a bad thing, but we thought it was kind of cool to hear. Most of the album holds that classic 3 Doors Down sound that everyone has known and loved since the 2000's, and is just about life in general. It covers all types of topics like loving the life you live, the different types of people in your life, freeing yourself from things that are holding you back, and so much more. Its most definitely a beautiful, very throught provoking album that perhaps everyone should hear at some point in their life. It may be comforting, or even eye opening to some. We recommend looking it up soon, and get prepared because on March 11, 3 Doors Down will be releasing their sixth studio album, Us and The Night. To go along with the album, they will be playing a free show at Universial Studios in Orlando, FL on March 20. After that, they will set out on tour which will run April 8 through May 13. They will also be appearing at Welcome To Rockville, Fort Rock, Carolina Rebellion, Rocklahoma and Bands In The Backyard.
