It really doesn't feel like its been five years since Five Finger Death Punch released their third studio album, American Capitalist. We also could have sworn we did a review of this before, but it appears as though we somehow did not. Time sure does fly, because while it doesn't feel that way at all, they did release it on October 11, 2011, and we somehow did not review it. The album got massive success almost instantly. It sold more than 90,000 copies in the first week, and debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200. Fans loved it from the start, with the lead single, "Under And Over It", and the love did not stop there. They had several singles for the album, all of which did fabulously, but a couple of them are personal favorites. First there's "Remember Everything", which was announced to be a single in November 2011. The song is a letter to front man, Ivan Moody's family, as he reflects on everything. Some of it is good, some of it is not. We hear him expressing his love for his mother, his insecurities with his father, and him begging his siblings to forgive him for never being there. Its actually a rather sad song, but its incredibly beautiful and will forever be a favorite. "Its a long and lonely road when you know you walk alone." On the completely opposite scale, there is the last single from the album, "The Pride." It wasn't announced as a single until a little over a year after the album's release but we loved it from the first time we heard it. Its heavy, and fun, and about standing up and making something of yourself. The lyrics do the talking for us, "I will not be forgotten, this is my time to shine. I've got the scars to prove that only the strong survive." Whatever you want to do in life, you can do it. That song empowers fans in a very fun way, that you probably have already heard at this point and love. If you somehow haven't heard "The Pride", or the rest of the album, we highly recommend you fix that right away. We also recommend you check out the rest of Five Finger Death Punch, including the three albums they've released after this album. There's Wrong Side Of Heaven and The RIghteous Side of Hell Part One and Two, and most recently Got Your Six. All of their work is incredible and we encourage you to listen to all of their work. Maybe it will get you excited for everything 5FDP has coming up very soon. Their fun starts this April, when they go down under to play several different shows all around Australia. They will be in April from the 15th through the 25th, and then five days later they kick off The Loudest Month ever here in the US. They will be playing Fort Rock on April 30, and Welcome To Rockville May 1, and then do a four date tour with Shinedown in Indiana, Michigan, Virgina and Pittsburgh. They get a couple weeks off and then will also be performing at the 10th Annual Rock On The Range, Rock'n Derby and Rocklahoma. They also will be playing several festivals all over Europe, such as the Provinssi Rock Fest in Finland, Bråvalla Festival in Sweden, With Full Force Festival in Germany, Rock For People in the Czech Republic, Two Days A Week Festival in Austria, Jarocin Festival 2016 in Poland, and several more!
