This album is an amazing album, its a great follow up to their last two albums, only this time I feel like they've perfected their sound. Its slightly harder in sound, and if you ask me the lyrics somehow improved. Even though, I had no idea that was even possible.
I can't decide what my favorite song on the album is. They're all incredible, but I'll have to go with either, "Renegade" or "Crawling Back To You." What can I say? Daughtry knows how to pick good singles. Everything about this album is great. The lyrics, the vocals, the instrumentals. Its a perfect album, don't pass it up. Obviously, I give this album five stars.

Over all, I don't like Atreyu. Whoever does the majority of their screaming sounds like he's choking or drowning when he screams. It makes me cringe pretty much every time. I do like the lyrics I can understand, and the beat, but I hate his scream.
For that reason, I found it to be highly ironic that he says, "I hope you choke." in "Bleeding Mascara", because he sounded like he himself was choking. Only a few songs really stood out to me, but my favorite has to be their cover of "You Give Love A Bad Name". They did a great job, and his scream even sounded good. That's really the best track though. Which is honestly, sort of sad, since its not even their song. Its Bon Jovi's. Seeing as I only actively like three songs on the album, and only really enjoyed one song, I have to only give While I do feel like Big Time Rush is the Nickelodon verison of Hannah Montana, and is trying to bring boy bands back from the 90's, I was very impressed with this album. I enjoyed the majority of their debut album, and the lead single for this one, "Music Sounds Better With U", so naturally, I had to hear more.
I had only heard "Music Sounds Better With U" when the music video was played on Nickelodon, so I did not know they actually had Kendell say, "I used to think that love was something fools made up. 'Cause all I knew was heartbreak. Let his heart go through hell." Its a minor thing, but since BTR is a band on a kids show, I was sort of surprised. A couple of songs, such as, "Show Me", were reminiscent of Nsync. Which is not a bad thing, it just proves that they are indeed trying to bring back boy bands. Somehow, they seem to be suceeding. This album may be long, but its good. I have no complaints except for their "cover" of All Time Low's "No Idea". They only took the chorus of the song, but I feel like they could have done so much better with the song. Fans all thought they stole the song until Alex Gaskgarth of ATL set the record straight. Permission to do it or not, their verison is still a disgrace to the original. I also greatly enjoyed "Invisible", its all about feeling invisible and alone, and having someone reaching out to you. They say they know you exsist, and that they're there for you. Its truly a beautiful song. Again, not something you'd expect from a band on a kid's show. I also feel it is worth mentioning that "Cover Girl", reminded me of NeverShoutNever. Which is a good thing, as NeverShoutNever is very talented. Over all, I feel it is a good album. Its not what you'd expect from a band on Nickelodon. Its actually much better than that. I give their album five stars, and I highly recommend it. Honestly, I was slightly dissapointed with this album. I can't quite put my finger on why that is, but I'm not as impressed with this album as I was with Life Left To Go. Despite the delays on the album, I feel like they still could have done a lot better with this album.
All the songs are too slow, and sound overly similar to me. Not to mention Douglas (Safetysuit's singer), really shouldn't attempt to hit such high notes. They don't sound awfulm but they do sound a bit hard for him to reach. Its an alright album, but not everyone will agree with me about that. I can't even say I have a favorite song. I give this album a three. Its alright, and you can tell they tried very hard to make a good album, but I wasn't impressed. I was never an Attack! Attack! fan, but I decided to give them a chance again. I'm glad I did, because they've changed a lot musically.
They never sounded good to me, but now they do. I feel like if A Day To Remember and Asking Alexandria were to have a baby, this album would be its child. Its quite good, they've grown a lot as a band. This sound works better for them, and they need to stick with that. My personal favorite is, "The Betrayal". I love how it sounds, and the lyrics are great too. "Don't say you've forgotten about me. I know the thought of us is creeping at your mind. You drove me crazy, now there's no maybe. So grab your guns and pick a side, 'cause this means war." If you enjoy the type of music you can truly rock out to, you need to check out this album. I personally give this album five stars. |
