This album may be older, but its arguablly one of the best "alternative" albums of all time.
I feel anyone who says, "Sugar, We're Going Down", "Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying", "XO", and "Sophmore Slump Or Come Back Of The Year" are not some of the best "punk" songs out there, they are off their nuts. Despite their long, somewhat irrelevant titles, this entire album is genius. If I was to pick a favorite, I'd probably have to go with "Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying". If you ask me, its true, things get said to much. To the point that they lose all meaning. On top of that, I love Pete's speech at the end, and the line, "It must be said again, that all us boys are just screaming into microphones for attention because we're just so bored." As for Pete's speech he says, "From day one I talked about getting out, but not forgetting about how all my worst fears are letting out. He said why put a new address on the same old loneliness? When breathing just passes the time, until we just get old and die. Now talking's just a waste of breath, and living's just a waste of death and why put a new address on the same old loneliness? And this is you and me, and me and you, until we've got nothing left." Its basically a drawn out way of saying don't waste your life because then you're going to die after barely living. On that note, I give this album five stars, as I feel it is timeless.
