Ballyhoo released a new EP on June 17 which features three songs. The EP is titled Halo and chances are fans will not be disappointed. They honestly covered several bases in life with just three songs! We all have those days where everything is awesome, days where everythin slightly sucks, and days where we just wanna laze around and do nothing. This EP totally covers those bases perfectly, and everyone can relate to it for that fact.
The EP starts with "Halo (Beautiful Day)" has a fun, kind of Weezer-esque feel to it and it depicts a beautiful day. This song could probably help assist someone into a better mood if they were not quite feeling it that day. Its actually quite refreshing too, to hear a song about a great day that features sunshine, picnics and kissing, rather than darker topics. Its a nice thing to bring to the table. From that, it goes into "The Lazy Song." which, yes, is a cover of the famous Bruno Mars song. A ton of people have covered it since its release in 2010, and while Ballyhoo! may have been late on the game, its better late than never! This is probably one of the best covers of the song to be relesed to date. So, kudos to Ballyhoo! for that! The final song on the EP is, "No Good" and it is quite the jump from "Beautiful Day." Go from saying how beautiful the day is to saying, "This is hell." just two songs later. Clearly, something happened to change the mood, but this song is still very good! It appears to be centered around a breakup, as he says something about picking up the pieces of a relationship. But dude, what's so good about picking up the pieces? He seems to realize that fact though becuase he does state something about not letting people get the best of him. Over all, this is a wonderful EP that I recommend everyone checks out. You can get this five star EP now on iTunes!
