Modern Vintage is the third album from the hard rock band, Sixx: AM. The album came out on October 7, 2014 and features a cover from The Cars. That actually happens to be the fourth single on this album, which didn't come out until April of 2015.
The first single from this album, "Gotta Get It Right" was released pn August 5, 2014. While it is a good song about life and wanting to do things over, it just doesn't stand out that much to me. For me, the stand out tracks are, "Relief", "Stars", and "High On The Music." "Relief" is one of those songs that remind you that things get better, even in the toughest of times when it feels like the world is never going to be right again. It always gets better, and relief always comes. They say it best in the chorus of the song, by saying, "In a little while, all the noise in your head will fade away and you will find some relief then. Yeah, you will find some relief then. And in a little while, all the weight in the world feels like a rain. And you will find some relief then." "Stars" is actually the third single from the album, and appears to be offering an escape by inviting someone to run away. "Do you want to see heaven tonight? Do you want to see the stars before they fall?" Its a creative invitation, and I thought it was rather beautiful. Then there's "High On The Music", which speaks of life, and how difficult it can be but also expresses what an escape music can be. Anything that acknowledges the power of music is an automatic win in my book. The album itself is very good over all, and we do recommend checking it out.
