Anyone who is a fan of pop punk needs to give As It Is a chance. As It Is is a pop punk band from Brighton, England that is fronted by YouTuber Patty Walters. Their first full length album, Never Happily, Ever After was released on April 21, 2015 and it surely will not disappoint the pop punk fans out there.
Throughout the album, it speaks of self doubts, lonesome feelings, brighter days, and many other things. While some may write that off as 'emo', it could possibly be relatable to many and it is important to point out that most music is 'emotional'. For us, the stand out tracks include, "Cheap Shots & Setbacks", "Concrete", and "Drowning Deep In Doubt." "Cheap Shots & Setbacks" stands out because it points out that everything can be wrong, but yet, you can still have everything under control. "We're the kids who are dead inside, but we're the ones who feel alive. We dream because we don't sleep. We'll never get rest, but we got this." That lyric also sounds a bit like a nod to an internet reference, "Internet kids never sleep." Some may understand why that stands out. This entire album is the epitome of pop punk and is proof that As It Is will definitely be a huge hit. You can catch them all summer long on the 2015 Vans Warped tour, and get all their music, including EPs released prior to this album on iTunes.
