The fourth increment if Fearless Records Punk Goes Pop series recently was released and I must say, I wasn’t overly impressed. Punk Goes Pop 3 was better.
It wasn’t that they all were bad, but some could have been much better. Like All Star Weekend’s cover of “Yeah (x3)”. Though I have to say, it may have been better had they just not covered that song. IT feels like the only lyric was “Yeah”. That’s not a song. The worst, however, had to have been For All Those Sleeping’s cover of “You Belong With Me”! The butchered that song, the words “you belong with me” should never be screamed like that! It sounds almost demonic, or like a threat the way he screams it. That’s simply not right. The album isn’t all bad though, there’s a few great covers too. There’s Go Radio’s cover of “Rolling In The Deep”, as its beautifully done and Jason Lancaster expresses the true beauty of the lyrics well. There is also Pierce The Veil’s cover of “Jus The Way You Are”. There’s just something about Vic’s voice singing this song that just makes me smile. My favorite is the Sleeping With Siren’s cover of Cee-Lo Green’s “Fuck You”. The beat and the way its sung was very fun and catchy. Plus, I really enjoyed the way Kellin Quinn sings the words “fuck you”, especially at the beginning of the song. He sounds as though he’s smiling, and its overly perky. That made it very amusing. Because I like about half of the songs, I think I’m going to have to give this album three stars. It could have been better, but I’ve definitely heard worse.

When I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new surveys are added- checkbox and already when a comment is added I get four emails with the exact identical comment. Will there be in any manner you can remove me from that service? Thanks!

I looked into it a bit, and I unfortunately found no way for me to remove you, but when you get an email about a new post, go to the bottom of it and hit the button that shows up next to the sentence, "To UNSUBSCRIBE from this blog post".
