New Medicine’s debut album, Race You To The Bottom has shown that they have some seriously talent and potential to go far.
That being said, I feel that they could have done better with this album. I am not saying that this is a bad album, just that it could use improvement. There’s only a few tracks that really stood out to me, “Rich Kids”, “Little Sister” and “Race You To The Bottom.” I like “Rich Kids” because its got a different feel to it, almost like 3Oh!3 with a rock sound to it. Plus it says, “I’m not a rich kid, maybe that’s a good thing. Ain’t got shit but I got this far.” I don’t want to sound offensive to anyone who is well off, but poor kids actually have to earn their stuff. They learn the value of a dollar easier. As for “Little Sister” , its almost haunting. I keep wondering who died! “Do your wings fit good? Can you fly?” He also goes on to say its like someone’s watching over him. If his little sister did die, that’s really sad! I honestly can’t make up my mind if I like this song or not. This is a decent album, so I give it three stars. Its all catchy, but I feel like it could have been done better. I just can’t seem to say why exactly.
