Throwback to June 1 of 1999 when Pennywise released their fifth studio album, Straight Ahead! The album did fairly well, charting at number 8 on the Australian Album Charts, 17 on Canadian Album Charts and 62 on the Billboard 200 here in the US. The only single I could find that was released in promotion for this album was "Alien", which seems to be calling out humans a bit for the way they live life. Honestly, that seems to be the entire album. Its either questioning humans as a whole, or how the world works. Angsty teenagers, or adults fed up with their lives wishing to make a change probably would love this, because it is fast paced and may fuel some to take this life and make it theirs, but over all, I'm not seeing what's so spectacular about this album. Its definitely not bad, and I see nothing wrong with it exactly, I just find it to be a bit....boring, for lack of a better word. I've definitely heard better work from Pennywise. That being said, everyone is going to feel differently! If you've heard this album, please feel encouraged to give us your feedback! Also know you can catch Pennywise on tour on May 1, through the 15th, and will be appearing at Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion and Rock On The Range! For further information, please visit the respective festival websites or Pennywise's official website.
