Okay, so the Warped tour lineup was announced in full today. Given the complete explosion the leaked but possibly fake lineup I posted the other day gave my website, I absolutely had to talk about this. Plus, some of the bands kind of surprised me, so there was also that factor. First, let me say this, the lineup the other day that I posted was 100% REAL. It was just incomplete because not every band performs at every venue. The lineup we saw the other day was just for the August 9 date, which is at a Hard Rock in Las Vegas. Every single band they announced is actually performing, and then there's a ton more where that came from. If you haven't seen what I'm talking about, click here to see the leaked lineup from a few days ago, and click here to see the Warped tour lineup in full. Now I want to talk about who is performing. ATREYU AND BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE?? Literally when Kevin Lyman was talking about putting on heavier bands on Warped tour, I fully expected the video clip to say bands like Of Mice And Men, or Motionless In White, but not Atreyu and BFMV. He did name Motionless In White, which I wasn't surprised by, but these two baffled me! They just seem too.....for lack of better words, big for Warped Tour, and not their usual style. I suppose that was the point though. There's also White Chapel, which is extremely heavy, and most people saw that on the leaked lineup and assumed it was fake. Part of me did too, but at the same time, I didn't know. I'm not a fan of theirs, so I didn't totally care either. Another one that shocked me a bit was From Ashes to New, mostly because they just finished a tour with Five Finger Death Punch not that long ago and for some reason Five Finger Death Punch and Warped tour just don't go in a sentence together. Unless that sentence is 'From Ashes to New has performed with Five Finger Death Punch and on Warped tour." Apparently. I was also thrown off by Sum 41, but not because of their genre, but because I forgot they were still active. Completely forgot, please forgive me. Now alternatively, I was very excited to see Good Charlotte and then totally disappointed to realize they join the lineup nearly three weeks AFTER Warped tour comes near me. I have a love/ hate thing for Warped tour, okay? I tend to hate how its organized. I had a bad experience in 2012 and despite having a good experience at a different venue in 2015, the first impression just left a bad taste in my mouth regarding Warped tour. Problem is, I tend to LOVE the lineup. And this year is really no different. There was a ton of bands I had never heard of, but given the clips I heard during their webcast, I was impressed. There's also many bands I do really enjoy on the lineup. Some of those bands include Mayday Parade, The Maine, Sleeping With Sirens, Falling In Reverse, State Champs, Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Motionless In White, Tonight Alive, Four Years Strong, New Found Glory, The Summer Set, ect. I was actually really excited to see The Summer Set back on the lineup because if I remember correctly, they performed a few years back, and we actually saw them with All Time Low in 2012 and really enjoyed their set. So it would be nice to see them again, same thing with Mayday Parade. We've actually never seen any of the ones we mentioned above, minus Mayday and BFMV. We've seen them both, and they're both wonderful. We have yet to see any of the others, though I did actually meet Alan from Four Years Strong very briefly at Warped tour, actually. It was Warped tour 2012, I was very stressed out and pissed off when I met him, all I said was hello and shoved my way past him to get to the press area I had only just found after two hours of searching. Still something I remember to this day though because before that a friend had begged me to get a picture for her or something if I met him, and I was too frazzled to give a shit at that second. I could have gotten a group hug tackle from All Time Low at that moment and I probably would have told them to fuck off because I was that exasperated at the time. Why did I tell that story? I don't know. Moving on. Anyways, I'm a bit torn, guys! The lineup looks great, but given everything (one of those things being I live in Florida and summer heat is actually Hell down here) I really don't know what to think. Chances are though, I probably will go and just be chugging the fuck out of some water bottles and coming home with a nasty sunburn. What do you guys think of the lineup this year? Are you as baffled yet torn as I am? Do you even give a shit? I don't know. Please let me know in the comments or over on Facebook and Twitter. Let's get a conversation going again, that was a lot of fun the other day.
