The internet is overflowing right now with the news of the legendary band called My Chemical Romance being no more. I have never quite been a "hardcore fan" of theirs, but they were one of the first bands I ever enjoyed so this is a sad day for me as well.
I sort of feel like the music world is trying to fuck with us. First Adam Gontier leaves Three Days Grace (which shook up many people, not just me.), then Fall Out Boy comes back unexpectly, and now this? What's next? Is Disturbed going to come off their indefinite hiatus next month, just to have Blink-182 break up in May? That's been the pattern this year, a big band falls apart one month, the next one comes back, and then there's another break up. I know 13 is supposed to be an unlucky number, but come on, really? Stop trying to fuck with us, music world, its not fair. I was talking to a friend of mine about their break up this morning, and she had a very good point that I do agree with. Their break up was semi expected. Danger Days was very downhill compared to the rest of their music, it came out that Mikey Way was cheating on his wife, and the stuff off of Conventional Weapons is all just old stuff they never got around to releasing. Something tells me they decided to release all those songs just so fans had something that was truly MCR to remember them by. I think even they knew that Danger Days wasn't up to par for them. Sadly, everything does have to come to an end, but there's certain bands that you never expect them to break up. You expect breaks now and again, so they can try to live normal lives, but that's it. My Chemical Romance was one of those bands. I'm worried to see how their dedicated fans take it. I'm hoping they react better than I did when Adam left Adam Gontier, but let's face it. They're going to act the same. They're all going to feel like someone near and dear to them just died, because that's what music does to you. It becomes a very close friend, and when you get attached to a band, it really hurts when things come to an end. Keep your head up though, who knows what may happen in the future. They may pull a Fall Out Boy and return, or move onto their own things. Anything is possible, don't give up hope. "Promise me, when MCR's gone, you'll do what it takes to survive. You're strong enough to do it without me." - Gerard Way
