In light of someone passing away at Warped tour yesterday, I feel it is about time I talked about this. I have been privately discussing the dangers of Warped tour with a friend of mine and I have said many time that they need to revamp Warped tour.
I get it. Its supposed to be like the 'punk rock summer camp' so of course a lot of it will be outside, but that gets dangerous! With most of the country experiencing weather of over 90 degrees, I'm surprised only one person has died at Warped tour this year. I was thinking about it, and there's other ways to set up Warped.
I was thinking that if they had it in arena's or stadiums, it'd be far less dangerous. My local arena is a perfect circle, and I was thinking what they could do is set up two stages on the floor of the arena, and have one setting up while a band is playing on the other stage, so they can just alternate all day. Merch tents in the hallways. If they wanted other stages, then they can take a section of the parking lot and just set up a couple out there. That way, people have easy access to air condtioning. That alone could save lives.
