Its that time of year again: Warped tour season! There are other tours in the summer time, but they generally pale in comparrison to Warped tour. Its been around since 1995, and every year it just gets bigger and better.
Some people argue that from one year to the next the lineups suck, but I disagree. Warped tour is the one place you can get to see two completely different bands such as Mayday Parade and Of Mice And Men in the same day!
Warped tour has been refered to as the "punk rock summer camp" in the past, but its expanded so much. Warped tour is no longer just one set thing, it brings people together souly for the love of music.
Being in the middle of summer though, it can be dangerous. Always make sure to have enough water, sunscreen and food. They have plenty of cool down stations, and some venues even will have a slip and slide, just so nobody gets sick from the heat. If you were unfortunate enough to get overheated, they also will have medics.
Its a great thing, and there's honestly nothing like it. Its the perfect way to bring music lovers together, and its also the best place to meet your favorite bands. Often times they'll do signings, but you might also just get lucky enough to see them walking around, just being a fan too! Don't be afraid to walk up to them either -they usually like it!
Because of the ammount of bands on the tour each year, Warped tour is not only a fan's Heaven, but its a journalist's playground! I simply can not wait for my Warped tour date, and soon I'll be finding out if I'm worthy of interviewing such great musicians.
I've been talking about this on the Facebook page since they began announcing bands back in December, but today I finally recieved the proper form to fill out. So, I filled it out as asked, and emailed it to the managers of Warped tour. I formerly requested interviews with All Time Low, Blessthefall, Blood On The Dance Floor, Falling In Reverse, Mayday Parade, Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, and We Are The In Crowd. If you have any questions for said bands, please do not hesitate to tell me them! I will ask any question in your name, if I'm giving the chance.
I am not certain if the interview will be filmed or not, but I am doubtful of it as my camera is not the best. If I am able to get a better quality one before July 28th, and have permission, all interviews will be filmed.
I'll keep you guys updated! Again, please do not hesitate to submit your questions here or on Music = Life.
