Illuminate Me's singer, Christopher Murray has started a wonderful petition on Change.org asking for Facebook to stop charging people to actually show fans the posts.
Some posts do get shown without payment, but not a ton ever get to see things because Facebook would rather unfairly charge for that. You don't have to pay, but it 'helps' for a very short amount of time, and still not even half of your followers will be able to see your posts unless you are willing to pay out the nose. Micheal has claimed to have paid Facebook over $3000 just in an attempt to show fans the posts, and has said, "Enough is enough, let's fight back. Facebook, it is not your place to put a price on our fan's eyes and ears." Nearly 24,000 people have already signed this petition and the goal is 50,000. Who knows? They may get somewhere and change the way things work for not only bands, but for everyone. If you would like to sign this petition, you can do so on Change.org. Be sure to do so and share it around, because this really could possibly help many out including all of your favorite bands, journalists, authors -and any other Facebook page you may know of.
