I was talking with someone this morning on the Facebook page about bands, and ones that deserve more credit than they get. So, I decided to make a list. :) Some bands have song suggestions, and they all have their genre. Some do just say "rock", but that's because no further information is truely known, and I personally suck at genres. The genres may be incorrect, its just what my iTunes or the band's Facebook/ Wikipedia tells me.
I also only suggested a max of three songs per band. Herbrightskies (Rock) "Little Miss Obvious" Four Letter Lie (Post-Hardcore) "Tell Me About Everything", "The Spell", "Pretend You Never Happened" One Less Reason (Alternative Rock) "A Day To be Alone", "If You Want Me", "What You Are", "I'm Not (Happy For You)" Modern Day Escape (Post-Hardcore) "Fit For A Queen", "Girls Like You (Gives Boys Like Us Bad Reputations)", "House Of Rats" Picture Me Broken (Post-Hardcore) "Dearest, I'm So Sorry", "If I Never Wake Again" Smile Empty Soul (Post-Hardcore) "Bottom Of A Bottle" Vanna (Post-Hardcore) "Into Hell's Mouth We March", "Safe To Say", "Sleepwalker" We Are The Ocean (Post-Hardcore) "Ready For The Fall", "Nothing Good Has Happened Yet", "I've Never Felt This Damn Good" Just Like Thieves (Rock) "You Don't Know A Damn Thing" Its Alive (Rock) "Liar", "Fool For You", "Can't Love Me" iRival (Rock) "Make Me Scream", "Figure Me Out", "The Pieces" Inhale Exhale ( Metal) "Its Myself Vs Being A Man", "Is The Fact That I'm Trying To Do It Doing It For You?", "I Needed A Space Ship (Instead I got Problems)" I Am Ghost (Gothic Rock) "This Is Home", "Lovers Requiem", "Killer Likes Candy" Glamour Of The Kill (Alternative) "A Hope In Hell", "Kiss Of Death", "So Who Said Romance Is Dead?" For The Weekend (Rock) "When You Look Me In The Eyes" (This is a Jonas Brothers cover. It is AMAZING! And the only song I can find of theirs.) Follow Your Hero (Alternative & Punk) "Watch Your Hands, Kid", "Chicks Dig Scars, Glory Lasts Forever", "Kolton Takes First" A Fair Comparrison (Rock) "You Belong With Me" (This is a Taylor Swift cover, and they have since changed their name. To what, I am not sure.) Downstait (Rock) "I Came To Play", "Love Is All I Have", "Walk Away" Deepfield (Hard Rock) "You're Forever", "Don't Let Go", "Fall Apart" Dear Whoever (Hard Rock) "Tears Of Ashes", "A Place For The End", "Breaking The Silence With Your Last Breath" Dawn Defeo (Metal) "Burnin' Up" (They do have other songs, but this one I think is their best. Its a cover of the Jonas Brothers, again.) Confide (Metal) "My Choice Of Words", "People Are Crazy", "Now Or Never" Close To Home (Rock) "You Struck A Nerve, I Struck A Match", "There's Nothing Worse", "Never Let Go" Cavo (Hard Rock) "Crash", "Champagne", "Let It Go" The Blackout (Alternative Rock) "I Love Myself, And I Wanna Live" Blacktop Mourning (Rock) "As Time Cr

Since 2002, Fearless Records have released albums featuring rock covers of pop songs. They released the first one April 3, 2002, Punk Goes Pop 2 on March 10, 2009, and Punk Goes Pop 3 on November 2, 2010. Over the years, they've covered artists like the Backstreet Boys, Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, Madonna, P!nk, Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls, The Fray, Miley Cyus, Jay Sean, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Lady Antebellum, and many more. This year, its back! Below is the album cover, the confirmed bands and songs, and a link to the official announcement from Fearless Records. Allstar Weekend - Yeah 3X (Chris Brown cover) A Skylit Drive - Love The Way You Lie (Eminem + Rihanna cover) Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! - We R Who We R (Ke$ha cover) For All Those Sleeping - You Belong With Me (Taylor Swift cover) Go Radio - Rolling in the deep (Adele cover) I See Stars - Til The World Ends ( Britney Spears cover) Pierce The Veil - Just The Way You Are (Bruno Mars cover) Silverstein - Runaway (Kanye West cover) Sleeping with Sirens - Fuck You (Cee Lo Green cover) The Downtown Fiction - Super Bass (Nicki Minaj cover) The Ready Set - Roll Up (Wiz Khalifa cover) Tonight Alive - Little Lion Man (Mumford and Sons cover) Woe, Is Me - Last Friday Night (Katy Perry cover) Now personally, I am most excited to hear the covers for "Just The Way You Are", and "You Belong With Me". Mostly because I like those songs. "You Belong With Me" is adorable, and so is "Just The Way You Are", but I hate Bruno Mars' voice! I'm so glad to hear that Pierce The Veil is doing the cover of that, because I like Vic's voice a lot.
I am also vrey excited to hear "Love The Way You Lie", for the same reason as "Just The Way You Are", and "Last Friday Night" because that song is awesome as is. Though I wonder what it is with Woe, Is Me and doing Katy Perry covers. That's the second one of theirs. On the last Punk Goes Pop, they covered "Hot N' Cold". I'm also trying to figure out why they have The Downtown Fiction, and Allstar Weekend on there. Both of those are more so pop-rock, and more pop than rock! Hell, for that matter, I first heard of Allstar Weekend, they were on tour with Selena Gomez and their video was being played on Disney Channel! Not that I'm complaining, I like Allstar Weekend, I'm just baffled by on why they'd have them on there. Over all, the bands and track listings don't surprise me. Espeically not "You Belong With Me", "We R Who We R", "Just The Way You Are" and "Last Friday Night". Those are some of the biggest songs out there in the pop world, I do believe. Also, I have to comment on this, what kind of fucked up name is "Chunk! No, Captian Chunk!"? Were they high and drunk when they came up with the name? It's...creative to say the least, but its also very odd. Punk Goes Pop 4 hits stores, iTunes and Amazon on November 22, 2011. The store features writst bands and T-shirts supporting not only his interviews, but Black Veil Brides and Never Shout Never. More will come I'm sure, but for now he doesn't have much on the site. My personal favorite, and Bryan's too, features a quote from the infamous interview with Andy Six of Black Veil Brides, and Matt Good of D.R.U.G.S. Andy said, "All My hate goes to my dick", and that is now featured on a T-shirt! I personally really want it...espeically for the irony of it, seeing as I do not have a penis.
There's also a T-shirt on there for Never Shout Never. I'm assuming its also a quote from Christopher Drew. I don't know for sure, because I haven't watched any of the Never Shout Never interviews. It says "Bring On The Weird". Bryan described it as a representation of being yourself. For those who are unfortunate enough to not know the awesomeness that is Bryan Stars, let me explain. He's a 21 year old interviewer, who is also considered a YouTube star. He has the most hysterical interviews, espeically when he gets in the same room with Andy Six. Those are probably his best interviews, and I do believe his most popular interviews. He brings life to the interviews, unlike so many who just ask the questions in a monotone and go on to the next one as soon as they get the answer. He asks off the wall, and down right ridiculous questions sometimes, just because its fun! Every now and then he'll get a star (like Andy Biersack /Six) that will goof around and sometimes eat his questions. Andy has done that, apparently he's a goat. I have included links to his store, and his YouTube Channel. You can also follow him on Twitter; @BryanStars. I forget his Facebook name, its not Bryan Stars though, I don't think. Once I get that, I'll share it on the Facebook page. I probabably should link that to the site too, huh? http://www.districtlines.com/BryanStars http://www.youtube.com/user/BryanStars |
