The fifth annual Rise Above festival has been announced! This year though, it's going to be bigger than any year prior to it. Instead of just being one day, it's going to be two days! Rise Above 2017 will be happening on Saturday, July 22, and Sunday July 23, and as always will be benefitting suicide awareness. For those who do not know, the Rise Above fest was something started by Seether, as suicide is something very close to their hearts. Frontman, Shawn Morgan, lost his brother to suicide several years back. Suicide is never the answer, and I for one appreciate that so many people gather to bring awareness. This year, the festival will be headlined by Korn and Shinedown, and supported by many fantastic bands such as Stone Sour, Seether, Halestorm, Skillet, Falling In Reverse, Red Sun Rising, All That Remains, Pop Evil, Theory of A Deadman, and many more. Tickets do not appear to be available just yet, but they're definitely coming soon!
By the way, many of these bands will be at other festivals happening prior to this one. Such as Seether, Starset, All That Remains, and many more! We personally will be seeing a few of these bands at Fort Rock, but you can catch some of them all over the country at other festivals such as Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Rocklahoma, Rock On The Range, River City Rockfest, Northern Invasion, and probably something else I've forgotten! For further information, please visit the respective festival websites.
