Up and coming punk pop band from the South coast of the UK, The City Calls are sure to go far. Their publisit came to me, and gave me their EP so I could give my opinion.
My opinion is that they're going to reach many people with their music. They have a sound likeYou Me At Six, only better, if you ask me. The entire EP is very well written the music is catchy and upbeat, you really couldn't ask more from an EP of this genre. The first track, 'Get Away" is empowering by saying, "You'll never bring us down." Its such a simple line, but it could give someone the strength to get away from someone who's hurting them. If I had to choose a favorite, even though I love every song, I feel like I'd have to go with either "Truth Or Dare" or "Meet In The Middle." Because, it feels like thosse two have the most meaning to them. "Meet In The Middle" is all about wanting someone back who left you, and hoping to one day compromise with them and "meet in the middle." As for "Truth Or Dare", I really enjoyed the beat and the meaning. Its sort of the flip side of "Meet In The Middle", its about someone wanting you back after they broke up with you, and you really don't care. "If I dared to love you, dared to love you back. I don't care that you let me. Look who's crawling back." Its a wonderful EP, and shows that The City Calls has true t
