We're shortly coming up on the third anniversary of Sevendust's ninth studio album, Black Out The Sun. The album came out on March 26, 2013, and peaked at number 18 on Billboard charts.
The first single was released on January 22, 2013 and was called "Decay." It didn't particularly speak to us, but it encourages you to not believe everything you've heard and not feed into the selfish minds. A track that did stand out to us though was "Dark AM", which reaches out to those who are feeling down, and tries to lift them up. The song says it best by saying, "Live until you die, just come alive. Its all you need to know." There's more to life than just to live, and if you're letting life tear you down, you're not really living. Take this life and make it yours. "Faithless" has a similar vibe, but you can tell it came from a very personal place. It tells his personal story of losing his way and finding it again. The strength it gives you is empowering, and anyone can find it, you just have to work with it and keep your eyes open. Over all, we didn't love the album. A few songs were really great, but not much jumped out at us. Did anyone else feel differently? Let us know in the comments below and then head on over to Sevendust's website to see everything they've got going on. They just wrapped up a tour in Australia, and in late April will be going out on tour with Trivium and Like A Storm. In the mist of the tour will be many festival performances, such as Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Lunatic Luau '16, Carolina Rebellion, 98.9 The Rock's Rockfest, Northern Invasion, Rock On The Range, Rock N Derby, Rocklahoma, and River City Rockfest.
