Melodic rock band, Ionia hails from New York, and on Feburary 1 released Postcards From The Edge: Chapter 1. Delta 32. They are an interesting band with influences from Thrice, Deftones, Brand New, Bob Dylan, Alice In Chains, Tool, Nirvana, The Pixies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails and more.
Every track on this EP is very unique in their own way, and all sound beautiful. They are all very interesting as well. Especially "Idea" and "Spitting In The Eyes Of Defeat." Both tracks really get you to stop and think, all the while you may not really know what the song is about. "Idea" sort of appears to be about seeing the world for what it is, and having the ideas to change it. To be sure, we'll just have to ask Ioina for their meaning. Something we loved about this track though was near the end, it gets all staticy -almost like its all too much, and then it suddenly just cuts out. We then hear nothing but the lyric, "Finally killed the pain", sung in a very passionate voice. That is something to admire in every song. If you can hear the passion, you know its good. This is a very thought provoking EP and it is highly recommended that people check it out. You can get the EP now on iTunes! Ionia Official website / Facebook / Twitter / Instagram
