The fourteenth album from American heavy metal icons, Megadeth was released on June 4, 2013 and is called Super Collider. The album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, peaked at number three on the Top Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts, and sold over 80,000 copies in the US alone by March 2014. The only single to be released for this album was the title track, "Super Collider", which came out on April 23, 2013. The song is about him offering to help someone out of their own hell, before their world comes crashing down. It reminds people they're not alone. Especially on this one verse, "Just one thing that I want you to know, you don't need to be on your own. No more feelings left out in the cold. Take my hand and I'll take you home." Its extremely easy to get caught up in your own head, so its nice every now and then to have a reminder that you are not alone. Not to mention, it also sounds great with the tone and beat. Its been said that this album is about the end of the world, which we definitely hear in the lyrical content. Almost every track talks about things breaking down, whether its the world itself or your mental health, still the world is crumbling and you're trying to make it out alive. Honestly, I do think my favorite track on the album is "Super Collider", but "Burn" also stood out to me. In a way, it sounds like a cry for help, and a suicide note. Especially at the end. "I hear the darkness call, the sirens are growing near. Its time I make my great escape. The flames are getting tall, inside my rear view mirror. Just a spark is all it takes." They're acknowledging how easy it would be to just die, and its quite attention grabbing really. Its a very interesting album, and I do recommend you go check it out.
