We've told the story before of how Immortal Music began, right? If memory serves correctly, we have for the most part. A conversation with a co-worker/ new found friend of ours, got us thinking about it, and we came to realize we didn't tell you the whole story to begin with.
Some have heard it, but some have not. So, we decided it only made sense to write about it and give everyone the full story. Its not a triumphant story or anything of that sort, and some may find it rather silly, but its the truth. Immortal Music's creator, Ariel, has said several times in the past that she was not always into the music she is into today. Growing up, it was primarily pop stars, but a real passion for her was the pop/ pop-rock group, the Jonas Brothers. A lot of people hated them, and saw them as nothing more than a Disney channel gimmick, but she saw them in a whole other day. I'm going to stop talking in the third person now and simply just speak as myself. Its a lot easier, and more personal, so why not? I'm not going to lie, I was completely obsessed with the Jonas Brothers. Sometimes I think I shouldn't admit that, for the sake of being a 'professional', but its in the past now. Plus, had I not become totally obsessed with them, I question if I would have ever found this path and started taking it to where I am now. The reason I say that is where the silly part comes in. The past eleven to twelve years have been spent on the computer for me. If I had the spare time, I was online, usually. I spent a lot of time growing up on a website called Neopets, and through there actually learned a lot. I made my first bunch of internet friends through that website, and discovered my first fan sites. I saw all kinds of fan pages on there, including many for the Jonas Brothers. I decided I wanted my own after a while, so I could show my love for them in my own way. Because of that decision, I started learning basic HTML and CSS, as well as extremely basic graphic design. As my music taste evolved, and so did my graphic skills, so did the websites. The website changed from a fangirl's playground to gush over bands, to a graphic website just for them, to a general graphics website, to a blog, to what you see today. So, because of that, I do have to admit -the Jonas Brothers played a huge factor in where I am today. They made me want to learn more about the people behind the music. Before I got really into them, I never gave the musicians much of a thought. Obviously, I knew they were real people, but I never cared to learn anything past their names. With the Jonas Brothers, I wanted to learn more about them as people, and thanks to all the other fangirls on the internet -that wasn't hard. Who knows if any of the 'facts' that I 'discovered' were truthful or not, but either way, looking into all these facts actually taught me a lot. After that, I started trying to find out something about every band I listened to. I can't say, "And then Immortal Music was born." Because that's not really true. The official start for Immortal Music was after my best friend showed me Bryan Stars' interview with Andy Biersack. It all did play a factor though, especially because -fun fact- the last website I made before Immortal Music was called Immortality. I almost called this website Immortality, actually, and the early days of Immortal Music were called that, but Immortal Music sounded better to me. As stated at the beginning of this, I decided to tell the story because of a conversation with a co-worker. Hopefully he doesn't mind that I am saying this, but since he became aware of my website, he's said a couple things to me that are going to stick with me for a very long time. In a good way, I promise. I told him everything I just wrote for you guys to see yesterday and he responded by saying its my website that's making him want to learn more about the people behind the music. That may be one of the best compliments I've ever gotten in regards to this website, and I kind of wanted to just mention it somewhere online. Plus, it was the perfect set up to tell you guys the whole story. There's actually more information over on the info page, which I called the 'Information lair', if you wish to learn more.
