I have no idea where this year went but my God, its been incredible! I wanted to take a moment to thank every single person that's been there for me this year. It wasn't always my weekend, but it was definitely my year. Between making fans, meeting my "number one fan", interviewing bands, and meeting some incredible people, not saying that this has been an incredible year would be a lie. On top of all that, I also got to go across the country without a parent for the first time for a whole month, got two tattoos and a piercing, and started working for a magazine. If you're interested in hearing more, I have made a video for you guys to watch. Thank you once again for being there for me. I know every single person with any sort of fanbase says this, but I truly love you guys because without you I would still just have the website and Facebook page that nobody saw. Had I not gotten any of your feedback, I would have quit and wouldn't be working toward bigger and better things. The video for everything about this year is right below this text. Thank you so much, and I hope you have a wonderful new year and that 2013 is your year. My resolution for 2013 is the same as 2012's was: Just to keep working hard for my dreams and not letting anything get in my way. Big things are already in the works for my life, including interviews with Black Veil Brides, Three Days Grace and Shinedown. Whether or not I will get any of them is unknown, but for now I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed in hopes of receiving many wonderful opportunities just like I did this year.

I asked people on Music = Life if they could choose some of the best music related things of 2012, and people certainly responded! This went on for two weeks, and I asked a different question each day. Below are the answers that were chosen by those on the Facebook page!
Favorite band: All Time Low was the winner with 28 votes! In second place was Asking Alexandria with 32, and Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens tied for third place with 23 votes. Fourth place was Blood On The Dance Floor with 11 votes, and in fifth was Suicide Silence with 8 votes. Best album of 2012: All Time Low won yet again with Don't Panic. Don't Panic won twelve votes, which left Pierce The Veil with seven for Collide With The Sky, Motionless In White's Infamous and Punk Goes Pop 5 were tied for third with five votes each. Best song of 2012: "King for A Day" by Pierce The Veil featuring Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens was chosen as number one with ten votes and there was no second place chosen. Best singer of 2012: Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low won this round with ten votes. Much to my surprise, Adam Gontier of Three Days Grace took second with four votes and Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil took third place with three votes. The question for day six was if people could name the worst album of 2012. Apparently that was impossible, as no album was chosen as the worst of 2012. Best screamer of 2012: The late Mitch Lucker won this round with a shocking 64 votes. Rest In Peace, Mitch. In second place was Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria with 21 votes and Of Mice And Men's Austin Carlile took third with 19 votes. Best guitarist of 2012: The winner for this round was Jack Barakat of All Time Low! Ben Bruce of Asking Alexandria took second with 12 votes, and Black Veil Bride's Jake Pitts received third place with 10 votes. Best Bassist of 2012: My Chemical Romance's Mikey Way won this round with 24 votes! Jaime Preciado received 10 votes and won second place. Ashley Purdy of Black Veil Brides took third place with four votes. Best Drummer of 2012: Mike Fuentes of Pierce The Veil won with 25 votes, leaving Christian Coma of Black Veil Brides in second with 13 votes, and Jame Cassells of Asking Alexandria in third with eight votes. Best lyric of 2012: "Is it the end of the world? I can not bear to watch it burn, but we're crawling in the dirt. Is this the end of it all? Well, we used to stand so tall. I barely recognize us anymore" -"The Swarm" by You Me At Six. This lyric won with five votes and there was no second place decided upon. Who do you want to see tour more in 2013? Both All Time Low and Black Veil Brides tied for number one with four votes each. No answer received the second place spot, but other answers included Asking Alexandria, Halestorm, Of Mice And Men, Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance and Disturbed. Who do you think is the best song writer of 2012? The number one answer was Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil, and second place was a tie between Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens and Austin Carlile of Mice And Men! So there you have it! Those are the answers my fans chose as the best of 2012. Thank you to all that helped provide answers! Happy new years everyone As many of you know, it is my dream for Immortal Music to one day become its own magazine. That's still a very long ways away, but I feel like now I am on the right track. A good majority of the time, when trying to find a job, you won't find one until you already have something to show. This case is fairly similar, in a way.
There is a local magazine called Spot Magazine, and they have now accepted me as part of their team! Their magazine is still currently free, and can only be found in Southwest Florida at this time, but it is very promising and thrilling for me to be apart of them. How about that -I'm finally working for a real magazine! I spoke with the lady that runs Spot Magazine, Lisa Pavy this morning on the phone for about two hours, and realized we have alot in common. She is trying to make the magazine less about music, and more about a wide varity of things, but I still plan to mostly be writing about music. She said that I get to choose what I write and when, and that very much excites me. She was also very intrigued to hear that I am interested in taking pictures at concerts for metal bands, like Asking Alexandria. She said I am more than welcome to go through them and set it up so I will be the one taking photographs and interviewing this big name bands. We have already discussed the idea of me attending shows for Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria and Of Mice And Men for Spot magazine here in the near future. This does NOT MEAN IMMORTAL MUSIC IS GOING TO DIE! If anything, it will help Immortal Music become much bigger. I was told to feel free to post any articles, or interviews in honor of Spot Magazine and Immortal Music. Nothing is going to change Music = Life wise, I'm going to contiune to post the exact same way I always have, and the only thing that's going to change for Immortal Music is it might become more active! If anyone wants to check out Spot Magazine, please feel free to at the link below. I don't know when my first article will be posted or published, or what it'll be about, but all of that will be figured out soon. I have a few topics floating around in my head, but suggestions are always welcome. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick to one main topic (i.e, music.) or if I'm going to have an editioral type deal where the subject changes weekly. All this being said, some things may stay special to Immortal Music, such as random blogs, and probably most album reviews. Check out Spot's website! http://www.spotmagfl.com/ |
What's this?Blogs of various topics go here, and all are written by Immortal Music's creator. You never know what you may find here, so have a look around. Archives
