Rumors have sparked up that Tom Delong, the front man for the iconic band Blink 182, has indefinitely quit the band. For the most part, these rumors do appear to be truthful. Mark Hoppus shared a link to an interview he did with Rolling Stone where he explained all the details. He claims that Tom only said he did not leave the band because he was upset that Mark and Travis were finally honest about it all.
Tom, however is claiming that he never quit the band and actually was on the phone about a Blink 182 event in New York City when all the press releases started coming in about his departure from the band. This was on his Instagram account, if anyone is wishing to see it. So, who's to believe here? Other than to deny it through one Tweet, it appears as though Tom has not really said much. Mark, however has said quite a bit. It sounds as though they signed a contract right around Christmas last year, and were supposed to begin recording in early January. Tom, however, was MIA and the rest of the band were mostly informed of this over email through producers and such. And you guys call him a friend? A friend would tell you flat out what was going on, not make their "people" do it for them. Something seems rather fishy here. They also claimed that they got an email flat out saying "Tom.is.out" at the end of 2014 and had received the exact same email back in 2004, when he took his first indefinite hiatus. What we don't understand is why you wouldn't just be honest? 20 years is a long time to be in a band, and sometimes, you find something that works better for you. He has Angels And Airwaves, and maybe he feels like working on that more. Doesn't he know its okay to admit that? More importantly, you'd think he'd feel like he owed it to his friends, let alone his fans to tell the truth about the whole situation. "It's hard to cover for someone who's disrespectful and ungrateful...To say, 'I didn't quit the band' is just not true. It's disingenuous." -Mark Hoppus. The entire situation is highly confusing, and frankly, considering how much Mark and Travis said, verse the little defense Tom offered, its sort of hard not to believe them. All the known details can be found here, and hopefully Tom will give his side soon in full. A comment on Tom's Instagram post actually made a valid point that needs to be kept in mind by anyone who might be upset over this occurrence. Tom is not Blink 182. Tom is one person -he is Tom Delonge. Blink 182 has primarily been three men since they started, and there's always more to a band than just the front man. Mark and Travis are going to continue on and move forward. Whether you choose to support them or not, is entirely your choice. Immortal Music chooses to reserve all judgement and thoughts on the matter for right now.

Suspicions were proven true, Danny Worsnop has officially left Asking Alexandria. There has been suspicions for a little while, and with the hype quickly building for his new band, We Are Harlot, it was becoming more and more of a possibility.
This announcement was posted via Twitlong (the longer version of Twitter) by Danny himself in regards to this matter. "To all of my friends and fans: I would like to let you know that Asking Alexandria and I are moving forward in separate ways. Over the last eight years together we've done some amazing things and created something truly special. I now, same as then, want what's best for the band and at this point in time, that isn't me. Asking Alexandria will continue to tour throughout the year and will be working on a new album. I will always support and love Asking Alexandria and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. I am excited for the next chapter of my life with We Are Harlot and will see you all on the road!" For many, this will come as a shock but there are a few things to keep in mind. Asking Alexandria's guitarist and founder, Ben Bruce has spoken up now and shut down all ideals of him taking over as the singer. Hopefully in the process, he will ease some minds as well. "It’s with heavy heart that I must announce, yet I am sure comes as no surprise to you all, that Danny has decided to leave Asking Alexandria to pursue other musical interests. Before you lose your composure and think this is the end I would like to say that myself, James, Cam and Sam have all been in this since day one. We love Asking Alexandria and we love every single fan/AAFamily member around the world. As with any family there are ups and downs. There are good times and hard times. A family is there to support you and help you in your darkest hours. We have been and always will be there for you guys and just this once we ask for you guys to help us out. Be our strength and our shoulder to lean on. Asking Alexandria will not be slowing down. We are going to tour harder than ever and we are going to write the greatest record of our career. We are extremely excited to announce that we will be spending all summer touring the European festival circuit and across North America on the Vans Warped tour with our new singer, playing a set list FOR THE FANS. We know you are here for us and we know this might seem like a scary time for us all, but we will be fine. We will stand tall and prove to the world that Asking Alexandria is bigger than just one person. It’s bigger than just myself, James, Cam and Sam. Asking Alexandria is a family made up of the most dedicated fans around the globe and nothing and no one can hold us down. This isn’t the end, this is the start of a whole new chapter. This is where we come together and make history. We want to thank the key people who have stood by us: Ash Avildsen and Sumerian Records, Kevin Lyman and Warped Tour, our management team Kyle, Diony and everyone at 5B, and most importantly YOU reading this. Yes you, because without you, Asking Alexandria would not be possible. I cannot wait to share our new songs with you and I’m so SO excited to get back on the road and see you all again. Stay tuned to find out who the new singer of AA is. Take care of yourselves, stay positive and we will see you all very soon. -Ben" Asking Alexandria is changing, but isn't dead. And people need to remember too that Danny is also not leaving the music business. You can still enjoy him as a musician, and hopefully most people will be understanding. People need to do what's best for them, and what makes them happy, and that is precisely what Danny is doing. HellYeah is doing something rather special on an upcoming tour. On February 6, HellYeah, Devour The Day and Like A Storm will set out on the Blood For Blood tour, and stay out for just over one month together.
Come to find out January is National Blood Donation month, and HellYeah decided to bring awareness to this in a very thoughtful way. They are asking fans to pledge to donate to the Red Cross with either blood or financial support. In return, those who donate will receive a signed HellYeah poster and will be entered into a contest to win concert tickets, signed merch, a meet and greet package, and much more. All you have to do is pledge to donate, and take a picture of yourself giving blood or a screenshot of your donation, and the fill out a form and add the photo you took to the photo gallery. The form and gallery can be found here. Further details can be found on the Red Cross' website, and all the tour dates are below. Tickets are on sale now! "You've got something worth exploring."Assuming frontman, Danny Worsnop is the main songwriter, you can definitely see he has come along way in both vocal range and song writing, particularly of the sexual manner. Its got an 80's feel to it, but yet is still modern and its just a great song. Could We Are Harlot potentially be the death of Asking Alexandria? "I won't let you be the death of me." -Asking Alexandria. Well, we'll see about that. This new project has high potential, and might possibly be using Danny's talents to its fullest. Not that Asking Alexandria isn't great, this just explores something entirely different for Danny Worsnop and its something awesome. Don't forget too that you can catch We Are Harlot at a couple different festivals this year including Fort Rock, Rock On The Range and Welcome To Rockville. You can also pre-order their debut self titled album right now! The album is set to come out on March 31. Watch the video below and leave your thoughts on the song and video below! Tickets go on sale January 23, and all the tour dates are below, along with a video regarding the tour. The packages are actually fairly responsibly priced as well. They range from $25 (that is including the shipping and handling fees), to $105. Along with that announcement came a tour announcement! All Time Low will be headlining a tour with support from Tonight Alive, Issues and State Champs. The tour begins just after the album's release, on April 15 in Lowell, MA. There will be a bundle available on Wednesday the 14th, where you can get tickets to the tour and the CD all at once. On some level, this is your expected pop punk song. Wanting to be someone else, wanting someone to reach out and help you, ect. As an All Time Low fan though, Immortal Music is wondering -what's going on? The new song from All Time Low, "Something's Gotta Give" is wonderful, and the same awesome sound All Time Low formed for Don't Panic. Lyrically though, it makes you wonder. "Someone please come pull me out from the shadow of my doubt. Wake me up, I'm falling." That right there is an obvious cry for help -but help with what? What's the matter? Alex Gaskarth has proven in the past that sometimes his lyrics come from serious experiences, other times he just gets inspired. There's a lot of questions surrounding all this one. However, the very powerful yell that the song ends on is incredible. That was a great touch to the song, we just had to comment on that somewhere. This track, while it does raise a few eyebrows, and pose a handful of questions is a great song, and does make one very excited for the new All Time Low record. No release date is currently known for the band's sixth studio album, Future Hearts but hopefully that will come soon. Meanwhile, if you are lucky enough to find a working YouTube link, you might be able to hear the full song. It premiered only on BBC Radio 1 so far, and the band has not shared it anywhere else as of yet. Many YouTube videos posessing the song have been removed and more continue to be taken down. Immortal Music did find the song via YouTube, and it is below. Whether or not it is still working by the time you get to it, is a whole other question. If you were able to hear the song, leave your thoughts below!
All Time Low recently finished recording a brand new album, which will come out later this year! This album will be titled Future Hearts and currently does not have a release date. However! It does have an album cover, and a single. The first single from the album, "Something's Gotta Give" will premiere on BBC 1 Radio on Monday, January 12! You can hear a clip of it now! Its floating around the internet, but we found it on a Tumblr blog.
Who's excited for a new album from All Time Low? Hopefully a release date will be known soon! On July 22, Alternative Press will be holding their second annual APMA's!
It will be held on July 22, 2015 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH! This year, it will be hosted by the dynamic duo that is Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low! This very unique red carpet, rock and roll event is going to just get that much more interesting, since they have Jack and Alex in charge of it all. The jokes that will fly, and the burritos that will be - You get it. Its going to be insane, and you do not want to miss out on it! Tickets are not on sale yet, but they will be soon! If the memory serves, they sold out fairly quickly in 2014, so surely this year will be no different. As soon as they go on sale, you will know, for sure! Meanwhile, everyone's wondering -when do we get to start voting? The voting will begin in March! Over on Alternative Press' website is a count down that tells you to the second how much time there is left until the APMA's, along with a very special announcement video from Jack and Alex. Don't miss out on that! Click here to see that. Stay tuned for more information directly regarding the APMAs, such as voting information and press information that may or may not involve Immortal Music. Fingers crossed for that! This is going to be one hell of an event. There's already been quite a stir revolving around Warped tour 2015, and the tour is still months from happening. A lot of the stir has not been regarding the tour itself, or the actual lineup but rather one band.
Some accusations involving sexual harassment and Front Porch Step. A petition has been started to remove them from the 2015 Vans Warped Tour. Supposedly, this one man band, also known as Jake Mcelfresh has had many accounts of inappropriately speaking with underage fans and sending vulgar pictures. Due to this, and the demographics of those who tend to go to Warped tour, people are trying to get them off of the lineup for this year. Over 11,000 people have signed the petition so far, but Kevin Lyman (Warped tour's owner) has yet to confirm or deny what is going to happen in regards to this act's removal or not. The petition had this to say, "There have been multiple cases of Jake Mcelfresh talking to underage girls and sending them vulgar photos. He has been asked to stop by these girls every time and continues with the sexual statements and harassment. Being in his 20's it is frankly disgusting that Jake is sending nudes and sexual statements to girls that are 13/14. There are screenshots of texts sent by him to one of these girls attached to this petition. We believe that Front Porch Step should not be allowed to play Vans Warped Tour and be given a national venue where he has access to the young girls who attend Warped Tour. We are asking Kevin Lyman and Vans Warped Tour to take Front Porch Step off the tour before something more than sending texts happens. Do not put your fans at risk, Kevin. Thank you all for signing." While Kevin Lyman has not fully responded to this, and has only really said that he is currently on a holiday vacation and will tell all he can when he returns, Front Porch Step and Pure Noise Records have both spoken up. Front Porch Step's response to all of this is rather vague, so one cannot fully confirm nor deny if the accusations are truthful or not. He wrote this, via his Facebook page on December 31, 2014 at 8:30pm; "I am aware of the serious allegations and sensational things being posted on the internet about me and my personal life. While this is personally difficult to experience, I am taking the appropriate, meaningful, and objective steps to address the severity of these things and the horrendous words being used. I would truly hope that others who have or will propagate these serious allegations will do the same." The beginning of his comment appeared to be owning up to huge mistakes he has done in the past, but as he went on, it sounded a bit like it was a vicious rumor and that he is truy innocent. Pictures have been shown though of text messages that are supposedly from him, but is that really enough proof? It could have been faked, and claimed, or it could be geniune. More proof might be needed here. Surely, if this is all true, there is more proof. Someone just needs to be willing to bring it to the surface. Pure Noise Records acknowledged the truth -that if these aren't just rumors, there are serious legal matters involved. Such things take time to deal with, so honestly people do need to have a bit of patience. "Yes, we’re aware of the rumors. Due to the serious legal nature of them this will not be handled over night. Thank you for your patience." What is slightly messed up though is all the responses to these accusations from commentators on Front Porch Step's post regarding it all. There are the expected comments, the ones telling him off, and the ones defending him. The problem is, there's people telling other people to 'just stop breathing', for saying they'll still listen to his music regardless, or telling others they are stupid for questioning the reality of this all. People need to learn how to not put people down for no reason. A musician is not just a musician, they are still a person, but sometimes -you don't have to care about the person behind the music. They can just be there for entertainment, if you choose them to be. Its a sad fact, but it is a fact none the less. Whether or not all these accusations are true, nobody knows yet. Surely more information will be disclosed soon, and action will be taken, especially if these rumors prove to be false. Get your input in now, and do it respectfully. There is no sense in insulting others for having a different thought than you. |
