Last night were the third annual Alternative Press Music Awards, and it completely dominated the internet. Just in the years prior to this one, fans got the tag #APMAs to trend world wide on Facebook and Twitter, and everyone enjoyed watching the Awards as they unfolded. Not only did they have a ton of support from excited fans, but the Mayor of Columbus, Andrew Ginther officially proclaimed July 18 to be APMAs Day in the city! That's such an honor, and I'm sure they're extremely thrilled to experience that. There was a lot going on, from seeing your favorites win awards for things like Best Drummer, Best Music Video, and more, you also got to see some unexpected performances like Papa Roach perform with Tonight Alive's Jenna McDougal. Something else special was they had fans picking between the two hosts, Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth, both of All Time Low, to see who was a more suitable candidate for the APMA President. Last night, thousands of fans gathered at the Schottenstein Center, which is located on the campus for Ohio State University, just for the sake of music. Even more watched as it streamed through Amazon Music and Twitch. Unfortunately, due to internet issues, Immortal Music did not get to watch any of the events, but rest assured. If any of you, like us, missed out, AP has already uploaded some of the events to their YouTube Channel, and is going to be available for streaming in full on Amazon until 7pm on July 20. Last night held a lot of great and very unique performances, such as A Day To Remember and Creed's frontman, Scott Stapp to play "Higher", which is by Creed. Rob Halford of Judas Priest joined Babymetal on stage to perform "Breaking The Law" and "Pain Killer." Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides performed with John Feldmann of Goldfinger, former member of The Used, and current member of VavaWave, Quinn Allman, Mikey Way of My Chemical Romance and Electric Century, to perform. And so did many, many more. Originals and covers were being played in 0ne-of-a-kind ways just for the love and fun of music. Then came the main event -the Awards! If you don't wish to have spoilers, please stop reading at this point and go watch the Awards for yourself. If you're more than happy to just read about it, or have already watched and just want to recap, please read on!
