We all know what Wikipedia is, right? Its a sometimes rather helpful information dump that anyone can edit. Since anyone can edit it, there are chances for the information to be dead wrong. Sometimes though, the information that's on Wikipedia can spread through the entire internet, and can be completely false. Loudwire apparently has a series where they sit down with artists and have them confirm or deny the 'information' on their Wiki page. This time around, they got Lajon Withersppoon and Clint Lowery of Sevendust to do it. Considering I wrote about them back in January as part of the Fort Rock series, partly using Wikipedia for information, I thought it would be interesting to watch. You can watch below, and read the differences we found. Wikipedia claims that Snake Nation was an alternative name for Sevendust and that actually is false! It was a band that Vinny and Morgan were in. Lajon said it almost got signed, but the guy signed Dave Mathews instead. Rumblefish was true, but the name just didn't stick. Wikipedia claimed that there was another band with the same name, but it actually regarded to Crawl Space. The information is on their Wiki page, but its apparently extremely exaggerated.
They actually exposed a lot of things that fans believed to be false, but also surprised the band a bit with some of the stuff that was true. They reflect a lot in this interview, and frankly, I think its a very interesting concept! Bothers me a bit that some of my information is now false, so I may go back and correct it. It also is quite an interesting concept for an interview, and may be one of the coolest things Loudwire has going on. Be sure to watch it, and while you're at it, please check out the biography I wrote. Do remember to take it with a grain of salt because I got the information the same way as everyone else. I also encourage you to head on over to Sevendust's official website to see everything they have going on. They're heading down to Australia with Silence the City this month and then will be heading back to the US to do a tour with Trivium and Like A Storm. During this tour, they will do several festivals, which include Fort Rock, Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion, Rock On The Range, andRock N' Derby. For more information, head on over to Sevendust's official website.
