The End At The Beginning is a very talented, up and coming band from Bolonga, Italy and they were kind enough to take the time to answer some interview questions from Immortal Music. The offered a lot of insight to some of the songs on their album, Appearances and introduced more of the world to their music. To learn more, please read on. Also remember that everything said is exactly what the bands said -Immortal Music does not change anything. We simply throw it together, and let the artists speak for themselves.
1. What inspired your band name, "The End At The Beginning?" And what does the name mean to you?
Because sounded so funny to hear from italian people ahahah! Joking aside, we needed a name for our very first show and at two days from the show we didn't have any name yet. So, we thought to combine some names and we particularly liked this one just because represented the circularity of life.
2. Out of all our songs, which ones are your favorites and least favorites?
We really like to play live "Try To Fall, Learn To Fly" and "The Vicious Cycle" for the meaning and for the energy of the songs, people like them a lot. We don't have a particular song which we prefer, because each song have a meaning for us, and all of them have something great inside.
3. Where in the world do you dream of playing?
The world is the place where we dream to play, touching every single country and town. We like to see different faces and stories from the kids, and having a good time with them in the aftershow. It's what we like to do.
4. What would be your dream concert lineup (to take part in)?
I think that most of all the bands would like to open the live show for Parkway Drive, as we do, but there are so many cool bands, even here in Italy, we would like to play with. In particular we are very proud to share the stage with the italian band Hopes Die Last in February, because they are one of the greatest pride for our country in the world. Being part of one of their concerts it means a lot to us.
5. Name something you listen to that nobody would ever expect.
We are very open minded people, most of all talking about music. Some of us grew up with classical music and indie rock/alternative music, and maybe this is strange to hear yet. We can name this: "Lorenzo have listened to Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus since yesterday". And this is absolutely true.
6. What inspired the song, "Try To Fall, Learn to Fly"?
The song talks about people who had everything easily and without fighting to have it, and when the situations change discovering difficulties and struggles they just take a step back to remain in their protective shell. The message is directed to these people, they have to take the distances from certainties, eases and privileges and starting to live for real, because a life without highs and lows is not worth being lived.
7. What have been some of the best and worst places you have performed at so far?
The best place is for sure the ZR in Bologna, it's a quite big space with a huge sound system and some very cool lights. We released our album right there opening for Being As An Ocean/Hundredth/Counterparts/Polar European tour, and that was a really great show. The worst place was actually a closed space in Rioveggio, in the Apennines. There was a really bad sound and really small space where to play...but we had fun anyway.
8. What do you do that is not music related?
Well, Nicola works as a salesman in a company, Filippo and Andrea are both students at Bologna University, Lorenzo is a student too and a goalkeeper trainer, and Alessandro has a job in an electronics store. We have to find a way to finance this band, right?
9. How would you describe your music to those who have never heard you before?
Our music it's good for insane people. We scream, we shred, we do shitty moves on the stage and nobody pay us for it. But it's better than what it seems, believe me.
10. What inspired you to sing in English, rather than Italian (Since you are an Italian band)?
We wanted to communicate something to people who listen to us, and the Italian it's not the right language. It's not musical at all for the genre and it's limiting, because nobody in the world talk Italian.
11. Is there anything you would like to add?
Of course! Thank you so much for being so patient and for the support showed in this interview and in the review. That means so much to us. If anybody want to support us or show us some love, help us buying our merch or leave a comment, photo, whethever you want on our pages. Thank you so much again.
Thank you very much to The End At The Beginning for everything! Hopefully one day you will grace the entire world with your presence in person. Meanwhile, be sure to check out their debut album Appearances, and follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
These are interview that I myself have done. They have not been found anywhere, they have not been done for me. They are my work.
