What is Immortal Music?
"Music is my Religion, Rockstars are my Gods, and concerts are my Church." -Ariel May
Music is immortal. Styles will change, and the creators will fade out of existence, but music is something that'll always be around and appreciated. Some music, however, is timeless. Without music, life would be a mistake, and to some -there'd be no life.
Music has a power like no other. It can bring thousands of people who would have never otherwise come together, and touch those who care to listen in a deep, personal manner. What may have been written as a release for one person can make millions of others remember that they're not alone. There's nothing more magical than being in a room with ten thousand people, and they're all standing and singing the same song. Seriously -have you ever experienced it? If you have, then you totally understand how incredible that truly is. If you haven't, well, then hopefully you get to one day because you will never quite understand the magic behind it until you witness it first hand.
"Where words fail, music speaks." - Hans Christian Anderson.
His words reign true to this day, and here at Immortal Music, we strongly believe that it will always continue to do just that. Sometimes it can be difficult to form what you're feeling into words, yet a song can say it all.
Music's power is something to be celebrated, just as religions are. Perhaps its a bit of a stretch to say rock stars are 'gods', such as the tagline of this very site has said for several years. We fully admit that, but it flowed well with what else was said. Religions are often glorified for how 'enlightening' they can be. Many of us, respectfully disagree, and can find that same comfort, relief and strength that many find in a church.
Even if you don't feel that way, everyone can agree that life would not be the same without music. It would be dull, quiet, and we at Immortal Music strongly believe it would drive many people simply mad.
Which brings us to the question posed above this paragraph. What is Immortal Music? Its many things at this point, though for the past six years, its been a music news site. We worked very hard to post the news that was going in the music world, do interviews to get personal with some musicians, covered shows, and tried our best to add a personal flair now and again. Immortal Music's early stages date back to as early as 2009, and went through many different names, locations, and styles before it became what you see today. There was plenty of trial and error, and admittedly some cringe-worthy work. But like a good majority of things in the universe, it has grown over the years.
Now we would like to focus more on the personal aspects of music. The fans, the stories, the experiences, ect. If you look closely enough through the content on this website, the full story will be revealed, and you most definitely will hear a lot of incredible stories.
Fret not though, none of the content from the past of Immortal Music has been lost! We were going to archive it all and keep it somewhat hidden, but instead, we are going to try to do it all. So you can still find news, reviews, random thoughts and interviews throughout the website, along with some stories.
We strongly encourage you to send us your photos, and stories regarding music. Whether that's a photo you're particularly proud of from a concert you've been to, you with a musician, or if you just have a story of what a song or album means to you. We want to hear it! Please email us at [email protected].
All we ask is you make sure it is YOUR content. Please do not go find an image off of Google and claim it is yours. If you use someone else's photo, please have permission to use it! Along with that, we would appreciate having your first name and last initial, or an alias if you do not wish to have your name included, a general location, and your age. Example: Bobby V / 27 / GA. We only ask for this information because we want to make sure we're giving credit where credit is due.
All submitted stories will be found in our brand new editorial section. Further information on submissions can also be found on that page, such as what's allowed and what's not. Any stories brought to you from the creator of Immortal Music, Ariel May will be found in the freshly updated creator's blog section.
