Hi guys! Ariel here -of course, who else would be here? I'm assuming you're here because the title caught your attention and first off I want to say thank you for that. The support I get every single day from so many of you warms my heart, and honestly, as cliche' as it sounds, some days is what keeps me going. Thank you so much for that, it means more to me than words can even express.
Now that the sappy love and thank yous is out of the way, I can get onto the news you're probably here for. I am very excited to announce that on February 4, 2014, I will be interviewing Of Mice And Men at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. More details about that will come as I learn them. As of right now, all that is known is that their press person has made note of my request and is going to set up all the details with me closer to the show. If you have any questions for Of Mice And Men, please message me on the Facebook page, and state that you have a question for Of Mice And Men before asking your question. I also am working on possible interviews with Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate and Bring Me The Horizon. Regardless on if I get the interviews for ETF and FIR, I will be attending the Bury The Hatchet tour. That will be on January 25, and that show will also be at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Let me know if any of you are going to the Bury The Hatchet tour, especially if you're going to that date! I'd love to meet you! As for the last bit of news, the Facebook page name has changed from Music = Life to Immortal Music. :) For more details on that, please go here. The article linked was written the day it was all set up, but it officially changed around 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time on Friday, November 22, 2014. That's all the news I have for now. Thank you very much for reading all I had to say, and I hope you all are having wonderful days! One quick note, before I go. If you are going to either of the shows I previously mentioned, please let me know. Maybe we can figure out an unofficial meet up or something. I plan on getting to both of the shows quite early, and I have a tendency to hang out at shows slightly late

Did that get your attention? Did it worry you a bit? Well, take a deep breath and relax for a moment. I was just using that awful trick to get your attention. Music will always equal life, as it will always speak the words that we cannot, and get us through trying times in our lives. I simply said that because the Facebook page that is connected to this website has been called Music = Life for the past three years, and that is soon to be changing.
I can hear it now, people are reading this blog from behind their screens silently questioning me on why I'm changing the name. The answer is fairly simple, its because 'Music = Life' sounds very generic, and Immortal Music is unique. You may be asking, "Well, why didn't you just always call 'Music = Life' Immortal Music?" The page existed first. I made the page out of pure boredom and a passion for music on August 24, 2010. The very idea of Immortal Music did not come into existence until early 2011. There were various forms of Immortal Music created before I got to this point, of which you see today, but they all were under different names, or on a smaller scale. In fact, the first couple of websites and blogs I had about music were just called Music = Life right along with the page, because I wanted to make sure people realized that the two were connected. Then I thought of the name Immortal Music, in the summer of 2011, and tried to find a hosting website to hold Immortal Music the way I wanted it to be. It took a while, and a few failed versions of the site, but I finally found this one and I love it. I named it what I did because it hit me one day that nothing is immortal, except music. The creators we all know and love may fade and die out, but there's always going to be someone creating music. Its forever changing and evolving, and always has been that way. I think that's an incredible thing, and I wanted to honor that. Now I'm sure several people out there are wondering why I never tried to change the name of the page in the past then. Why now? To be honest, I kept forgetting that it was an option, and even when I did remember, I assumed that I would not be able to get the change. I just sort of counted myself out, and assumed I'd be ignored, so every time I went to do it, I'd talk myself out of it. Yesterday on November 8, I decided to go ahead and do it. Worst thing that could happen is that they say no, right? Right. Well, at first, it appeared as though they did say no, but just as I decided to bother them again this morning, I saw that they've started processing my request. On November 22, 2013, Music = Life is going to be changed to Immortal Music. I wanted to bring this up to people officially, on and off of the page, in hopes that more people would see it. I don't want that day to come and for people to be worried and wondering, "Where's Music = Life?" and "What's Immortal Music?" It is also important that I mention something else that the Facebook administrator said to me about the name change. Its not going to be first thing on the 22nd, its going to be around 3:00 EST, because that's around the same time of day I requested the change. So don't be alarmed if you look at the page in the morning of that day and it says "Music = Life" and then you come back in the afternoon to see "Immortal Music." Its nothing to worry about. There's also a deeper meaning behind why I wanted to change the name, and I hope people can understand this. Many of you said "Well, we like the page regardless of its name! We like it for what it is, not the name." First, I want to say thank you for that. That means very much to me, and I appreciate your support more than I can even begin to describe. Second, and I have explained this to a couple of people anyways, I have always in my mind, seen the page as much more than just a fun little Facebook page for me to talk to people on. I've always seen it as a more interactive part of my website, and a place for me to not only feel connected with fellow music lovers, but a place where I can give those who need it support. Whether its their band needs supporting, or they need someone to talk to on a personal level. That's what the page is to me, its a support group, in a way. To some, that may seem pointless, silly even, to me, its a very big deal. I have big plans for my life, and Immortal Music the website, and soon to be the page, are just the beginning of that. I felt the name change would be a step in the right direction for where I need to be. I felt if the name of the site and the name of the page matched, maybe more people would take it all seriously, just like I do. On top of that, as I said previously, Immortal Music is unique, and Music = Life is not. I feel that plays a big factor in being taken seriously. I don't mean taken seriously by fans, because if I'm honest, most people read my website, or check the page simply for the love of music. I mean other people in the industry I am trying to break into. I know for a fact that band members and managers have seen what I do, whether its the website, my YouTube channel or the page, I know its seen by other professionals and while I always will have my own twist on things, I do want to be taken more a professional and less like a fan. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. If it doesn't work, then that's fine. At least the page will have a more attention grabbing name, and I'll be able to share the love of music with even more people. Regardless of what's going to happen in the future, or what's happened in the past, I am truly grateful for it all. Its all going to get me somewhere and I am honored to have people supporting me. Thank you very much for your support, and understanding. It means a lot to me, and I hope anyone reading this enjoys the changes to the page, and all the updates on the site and YouTube. All of the Hustlers, or All Time Low fans, as most people know them as, seem to be getting their panties in a twist over a recent rumor. This rumor, for one should not even be a rumor just because Jack himself addressed it right away. Rumors are going around saying that Jack is dating the child star, Abigail Breslin. For those who aren't aware, she has been in movies like Hope Floats, Nims Island, Little Miss Sunshine and many others that I am currently forgetting. I am a music journalist for a reason, guys. I keep up with musicians, not actors. These rumors sprouted up last week, after Jack retweeted a tweet that Abigail sent him, and then he tweeted a picture saying something about him and his friend at the premiere of the new Hunger Games movie. Both can be seen below. There is another picture floating around, though I cannot currently find it that is of them at the premiere. Yes, he was her date to the show, but does that not mean they are dating.
I mean seriously, if you were invited to a movie premiere, would you really say no? No, you probably wouldn't. Its not every day you get invited to one, even if you are as famous as Jack Barakat is. People need to calm themselves on this a bit. The most common things said about this are that fans are annoyed that he is dating an underage fan, and that they're pissed off about how they met. They met earlier this year at one of his shows because Abigail went to one with some friends, as a fan. Guys, really? You're mad about this? That should stand as proof to people that anything can happen. You never know, that could be you one day, hanging out with some famous rockstar because you met them as a fan, and they liked you as a person. Believe it or not, it does happen. So many people are saying its just because she's famous, but we don't know that. People need to just stop. People are also claiming that there's "Proof" that they're together. This so called proof is an article from a tabloid magazine that said that Jack is the vocalist of All Time Low. Really? People are believing a magazine that didn't even check their facts on what role in the band he plays. If you're interested in reading this laughable excuse for "proof", please feel free to click here and read it for yourself. If anyone follows All Time Low, they'd know that this is just all getting blown out of proportion because some fans are mad that its her and not them. Obviously, that's not the only reason people are mad, I'm sure there's people that have more valid reasons, but its all stupid, if you ask me. Above and beyond the fact that he said "My friend", not "my girlfriend", and they haven't been seen out in public, or Tweeting each other frequently, its illegal. He's 25, and she's 17. You do the math. There's also a matter of Jack's personality, which people seem to be forgetting. If you listen to Jack and Alex's radio show, Full Frontal, you've heard Jack say he prefers hook ups and friends with benefits stuff, he's not a relationship type of guy. If you look at his history even, that we know, of course, what he said there proves to be true. Another factor, if you want even more proof that this is clearly a rumor started by jealous fans, listen to Full Frontal and the stories he's told. He's talked about taking three women on one date! He jokes about being a manwhore all the time, though I think most of it is just talk. I'm not sure how anyone is really believing any of this, just because of how obsessive ATL fans are. They should have been able to shut it all down right as it started, not buy into it. Even if it was true, so? While illegal here in the states, its his business. If he wants to put his own ass on the line for a girl that's underage, let him. There's nothing fans can do about it, so you may as well accept it and let him be happy. That goes for all bands though. Fans always get all worked up over band members dating, and its actually really unfair. You want to be happy, right? Let them do the same. They're human too, and just because they have millions of adoring fans, doesn't mean they don't need real friends, and relationships too. Fans forget that. Now that I've rambled a bit and gotten my own two cents on this whole matter in, I must go. Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think of the |
