I've been talking about this for a while, but now it is officially happening and I sincerely cannot believe its finally in existence. There's not a ton in existence yet, but I do plan on making more in the future. It just is a matter of what you guys think, and if you like everything! They are all limited for now, but if they go over well, I will make more, and probably will make different designs soon. As of right this second, I have one style t-shirt and one style bracelet. All are pictured below! The pictures below of the bracelets show both sides of the bracelets. One side says "Immortal Music" and the other says "Music is Immortal.' It only made sense to show both sides in one picture, so you know exactly what they look like. The t-shirts are as pictured, except for one thing. The one pictured is slim cut, traditionally for women. The ones available for purchase are unisex and are not form fitting. They are just a 'normal' t-shirt, but the print will be the same and it will still say Immortal Music on the back. In case someone out there is out of the loop and wondering, the reason it says "Music is My Religion, Rockstars Are My Gods and Concerts Are My Church" is because that is the tagline for the website. It became the tagline in 2013 after I heard the quote from Jimmy Hendrix that just said "Music is my religion." I kind of just expanded on it after that and people seemed to like it, so it stuck. AND NOW ITS ON A T-SHIRT! This is something I've been wanting to make a reality for several years now. I have tried to make a reality even, and its failed in the past, but this time, it worked! I seriously cannot believe it on some level and am just so thrilled to say its real. This stuff is not available online just yet, but I am working on it.
If anyone has any suggestions on alternatives to Paypal, please message the Facebook page! Paypal so far is looking like the most likely option but I'm still sort of leery of it, so some other options would be nice. While on that topic, the bracelets are going to be $2, and the shirts are going to be about $20, I think. Shipping isn't included in that, and sadly may vary depending on where you're at for the time being, but I hope to fix that soon. If you're interested in the bracelets or shirts, or just have any questions, please let me know! Messaging the Facebook page is probably the best way to get in contact with me about this, but you can also comment here on the site, Tweet Me or comment on a picture on Instagram. Thank you so much to everyone who's supported the idea of all this over the

Today is the seventh anniversary of Shinedown's iconic Sound Of Madness album. First and foremost, I would like to say happy anniversary to Shinedown, and then I would like to reminisce.
You see, Shinedown is one of my favorite bands, and has been for years now. I was aware that I've been a fan for quite some time now, but it wasn't until they stated that the album came out in 2008 that I realized just how long I have enjoyed their work. I remember the first time I heard Shinedown, I just do not remember exactly when this was. All I know for sure was it was before the release of Sound Of Madness, but it had been announced. So, I probably found them just a matter of months before its release. The first song I ever heard by Shinedown was "Save Me", just followed by "I Dare You." Both were related videos to something I now forget, and I instantly knew I had to listen to them. Little did I know, they actually would have a massive impact on me and my career in just a few short years. Its now 2015, and seven years have passed. I have now seen Shinedown three times, interviewed their wonderful guitarist, Zach Myers and saw him do an acoustic performance with his best friend Justin Moore. That was still one of the coolest things I've ever seen, because it was just two friends sharing a love of music. They played for hours, with no set list or anything, just for the hell of it, and I still say more bands need to do that. Because of that show though, everything changed for me, and Immortal Music. I wrote an article about that night, just talking about the incredible experience I had, and Shinedown shared my article. After they did that, my website consistently has gotten a decent amount of views, and more offers have come in. That's something I can never thank them enough for, and I am very proud to be a Shinedown fan. Its been seven years, and this was only their third album. Now, they're getting ready to release the first single off of their fifth studio album, and are still going strong today. Happy anniversary, Shinedown, and thank you for all you have done. In preparation for Warped tour 2015, I decided to look into the sponsors this year. I'm not sure why, but we felt like it.
Perhaps it was out of boredom, but either way, we found some interesting ones. There's the expected ones like, Vans, Keep A Breast Foundation, To Write Love On Her Arms, Support Tattoos And Piercings At Work, multiple record labels like Hopeless Records, Epitaph, and so many more. There's a ton of fantastic ones but these are just some that stuck out to me the most to me, for various reasons. Hourslost -This is a company appears to be all about seizing the day and taking the opportunities for yourself, not waiting around, even if you mess up. That's something I support greatly, and plan on trying to find them at Warped tour. Their website had a tank top that said "Make your own mark on the world" and frankly, I want it. Blackcraft- This company may not be for everyone, but I personally like what they seem to stand for. It appears as though they're anti-religion, and are all about being yourself. That's something that bodes very well with Immortal Music, right down to our tagline. Music is our religion, and everyone is entitled to be themselves, no matter what anyone says. Also, all their designs are more on the gothic side, which is pretty cool as well. The Canvas Foundation supports creativity and tries to raise funds for art programs that are slowly getting shut down because people deem them unimportant. Art in all forms is highly important as life would be extremely dull, therefor depressing, without it. The fact that they support it makes me very happy, and it was worth mentioning. Hope For The Day- This is a company that gives people hope and gives them healthy outlets for their struggles. All the outlets they encourage are creative ones, and this does include music. This is something I am behind 100% and am always trying to encourage people to find outlets and healthier stress relievers. Music & Memory- Now this company, is the one I was most thrilled to discover. I had never heard of this company, but I had greatly hoped that something like this would exist. This company helps Alzheimer paitents through music. Music can help restore memories and this is something I think needs to be funded so much more. I've seen this to be proven very true, as my great grandmother had Alzheimer's disease and she forgot everything except for one song. Even on the day she passed away, it was obvious she remembered this one song and that will forever mean the world to me. There's plenty of companies that do help with Alzheimer's paitents, but this one is special to me and I am so glad it exists. I do plan on one day doing a fund raiser for Alzhiemer's research, because its a terrible illness that actually steals your memories from you. That bothers me a lot, and I know there has to be a cure out there somewhere. Some are still working on it, and I just want to help. I know there's a million other illnesses that need cures, but I definitely feel strongly about this one. Well, that was an accidental ramble, now wasn't it? Anyways.... I am plan on making it a point to stop by many of those tents, and several bands, including As It Is, Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria, Pierce The Veil, Memphis May Fire, and probably more. An Instagram account posted a bunch of pictures of the merch tents this year, which honestly just made us more excited to look around. Far too much money is going to be spent on stuff at Warped tour, but its going to be so worth it. Keep in mind that Immortal Music WILL BE THERE. We will be there with Remedy X, and both of us will have merch! There's bracelets and t-shirts for Immortal Music, and Remedy will have t-shirts, bracelets, stickers, CDs and can koozies. Prices have yet to be determined, and we all are still trying to figure out the online selling but stay tuned. We're working on it. Pictures of the merch tent will be posted on Immortal Music Facebook page, Instagram, possibly Twitter and Remedy X's Facebook and Twitter as well, the day of. I will also be posting pictures of the Immortal Music bracelets and shirts soon everywhere. I don't have any of it yet, but all of it has been ordered so its only a matter of time. I hope you guys are as excited as I am, because I am both thrilled and scared about the merch coming out. Has a band ever released a song that left you wondering if the one who wrote it is okay? You like the song, but at the same time, you're concerned? That's how we're currently feeling about "The Divine Zero", Pierce The Veil's brand new release. Its an awesome song but Vic speaks of suicidal thoughts, and triggering nightmares. We can't help but wonder about it. Is he trying to reach out to those who may feel this way, or does he (or one of the members of PTV) feel this way? A couple of the lines that are the most concerning are, "I'm not meant for this world, I just don't see the point. So I don't think about it, don't over think about it. And life is a joke." Okay, not overthinking is good. We could all benefit from trying to stop that, because it slowly drives us all crazy. But life, no matter how crazy is is, is not a joke. Sometimes it is better to not think about it and just get through things for a little while, but there's more to life than just to live. We're genuinely curious about what's going on in his head, and are just hoping he knows that he too, will be okay. After all, he is the one that wrote the lyric, "Darling, you'll be okay." Hopefully, he knows that stands for him too. Questioning and concerns aside, we really like this song. It sounds great, and PTV has stuck to their song that just works for them. If you haven't heard it yet, we recommend listening to it. Once again, its called "The Divine Zero", and you can hear it live on the 2015 Vans Warped tour. Warped tour has officially begun and Immortal Music will be at the July 3rd date! I will be there with the band I manage, Remedy X as they got chosen as one of the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands winners for this show! I already announced that and am still extremely excited, as are Remedy. If you're going, make sure to stop by and see us because there will be merch for both Remedy and Immortal Music! Pictures of the merch will be revealed later on (though if you poke around you will find the Immortal Music shirt that's about to exist), but there's going to be t-shirts, and bracelets for both and drink koozies for Remedy X. We were told we're allowed to have a merch table, though I am not currently sure if its allowed to stay up for the duration of Warped tour. If not, the current plan is to have merch in a bag as I wander the festival. If I remember, I will post a picture of what I look like that day, so people can look out for me, if they're interested. I will try to get Remedy to do the same, so people can still find the merch if they're interested.
Anyways, the point of this was actually going to be entirely different, because I guess now its a ramble about Warped tour. It did have that intent, but it went on a lot longer than I expected. A friend of mine is coming along with us to help out, and this will be his first concert. In an effort to totally prepare him, I wanted to suggest songs by some of the bands that will be there. I'm not familiar with all the bands on Warped tour, nor do I think you guys want to read all of that. So, I just selected some bands to suggest songs for, AND if you are familiar with a band I didn't mention, please feel encouraged to suggest songs! It could help many out. I am going to only make suggestions for five bands. I have already wrote about Black Veil Brides, and there are several others I could talk about. There's some I couldn't talk about because I'm still getting into them, or just barely listen to them at this time. As I said, feel free to chime in, as it could possibly really help. As It Is- Cheap Shots & Setbacks, Can't Save Myself, Dial Tones, Concrete, Sorry Pierce The Veil- King For A Day, Hold On Til May, Hell Above, Disasterolgy, Drella, A Match Into Water, I'm Low On Gas And You Need A Jacket, Staind Glass Eyes And Colorful Tears, Caraphernlia. Escape The Fate- Live Fast And Die Beautiful, Ungrateful, Harder Than You Know, Goregous Nightmare, Zombie Dance, World Around Me, Fire It Up, Forget About Me, 10 Miles Wide, Its Just Me, Issues, ect. (I only suggested ones with Craig Mabbitt as the singer because it seemed more relevant to Warped tour. In general though, I would also suggest Situations, Not Good Enough For The Truth In The Cliche', Reverse This Curse, and There's No Sympathy For The Dead. Asking Alexandria- I Won't Give In (This is the ONLY recorded track they currently have with their new singer, Denis), Not The American Average, Someone Somewhere, Breathless, I Used To Have A Best Friend (But Then He Gave Me An STD), Breathless, Alerion, FInal Chapter (Let's Change The Channel), To The Stage, ect. Memphis May Fire- Legacy (Hands down, this is the most inspirational song I have ever heard), Vices, Miles Away, No Ordinary Love, Possibilities, Speechless, ect. For now, I think that's all I am going to suggest. Through these bands, there's more I could suggest, and just might here soon. Like I've already said twice before, if there's a Warped tour band you enjoy, please share your favorite songs by them! It could introduce many other people to some new bands and that is always awesome. Reminder that Immortal Music and Remedy X will be at the July 3 date, which is in Saint Petersburg, Florida. MERCH WILL BE AVAILABLE. Please come say hi if you're going to be there! We (as in myself and Remedy) would love to see you. There's going to be a handful of Warped tour posts coming in the next couple weeks. This may possibly include reviews from Warped tour bands, suggestions from you guys and reactions to those suggestions, and who knows what else! We'll see as they come out. If you have an idea, let me know! I could not be more ecstatic to announce this. The band I manage / help, Remedy X is going to be playing the Saint Petersburg, FL date of the 2015 Vans Warped Tour! I got the phone call last night, and honestly freaked out. We are number 11 on the list for our date on the Warped with 88.8% Last year we were at 90.1% and number four on the list but didn't get picked, so I figured we stood no chance. Well, things apparently come when you least expect it. We do not know yet what time we will be playing, as we will find out that morning. I will be there as well, of course. I do plan on taking a ton of pictures and vlogging the day, and Remedy will have merch as well!
This is going to be a crazy day. Thank you to everyone who helped us with the Battle Of The Bands both this year and last year with the competition. All of the hard work payed off, and its a true honor. Writer's block has been kicking my ass recently and its actually been bringing me down quite a bit. A couple of friends were trying to cheer me up by throwing ideas my way, and reminding me that it is okay to take time to yourself. I have an issue with that, because I feel like every time I don't post something, I'm slowly killing Immortal Music. That's something that severely scares me, but sometimes I don't have time to write, and then other times I have no ideas. Its a dilemma for me, and it is something I am trying to fix.
Anyways, one of the two friends and I got off topic and started talking about music. Shocker, right? I mentioned some band that he wasn't fully familar with, and I said I could suggest some songs if he wanted. He said I should make that a series, and it doesn't have to be all by one band. It could be any songs I happen to feel like suggesting at that moment. I have already started a series like that, and I kind of think that's a better idea than giving backstories on bands. A lot of people out there already know a lot about bands, so I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time by writing all the backstory. I can give the backstory for some bands, if people want, but over all its semi common knowledge. So, I'm still playing with that, but here is a random list of songs I want to make sure people have heard. Some of them are new-ish, and some of them are just ones I've loved for a while. All are awesome (in my eyes) and I genuinely think you should check them all out. 1. Better Place -Saint Asonia 2. The Edge Of Tonight -All Time Low 3. I Want Out -Young Guns 4. Skeletons -Papa Roach 5. Someday -We Are Harlot 6. For The First Time In Forever -Stellar Kart (Yes, this is a cover of the song from Frozen.) 7. Breathe Again -Art Of Dying 8. Seasons -One Less Reason 9. Darker Side Of Me -The Veer Union 10. Prepare to Be Noticed -State Champs. That's all I am going to suggest for right now, BUT expect more of these coming soon. I actually think the next couple of ones will be for specific bands because I told a friend of mine I would be suggesting some songs from a couple different bands that came up in conversation. After a friend of Immortal Music's put "Music is Immortal" in French on her graduation cap, it got us thinking. "What would that look like in other languages?" So, I took to Google Translate, which is not generally the best translation program, but it was worth a shot. So, here's several, possibly rough translations of "Music is Immortal" in various languages all around the world.
I had absolutely no reason for doing this, I just thought it would be cool to see.
There's over 6,000 languages spoken in the world today, but there was just 32 different translations of "Music Is Immortal." If you know of another one, or know one of them is incorrect, please let me know! I do not have a head for languages though I really wish I did. Hopefully someone found that as interesting as I did, and I really hope to hear some sort of input or feedback from you soon. The first ever Immortal Music shirt now exists! This is a huge deal, and I could not be more thrilled. This has something I have consistently tried to make a reality since 2012, and I have played around with the idea since 2011 when the website officially started. Here's how it effects you guys. If you would like one with this design, you must tell me what size you want and what kind of shirt you would like it on. What I mean by that is if you want it to be a girls cut, or a guys, slim cut or loose, things like that. The one pictured below is on me, and it is a women's adult small. It says the website's tagline, which is, "Music is my religion, rockstars are my Gods and Concerts are my church" on the front and on the back it says 'Immortal Music.' I don't quite know how much its going to cost me just yet to make them, so unfortunately I cannot tell you yet how much they're going to cost. The one I have didn't cost me anything because I took some pictures for the place that made it. They appear to not have the website up yet, but that was what I was taking pictures for. Whenever Edison Custom Ink gets their website up, I will show that to you.
I couldn't be more thrilled that this finally exists, and I really do want to make more up soon! I want to get some 'orders' in, so I know what sizes and everything to order. I've been told that if I order them 'in bulk', they will be cheaper, but I also will have to ship them to you. I'm going to repeat myself here. IF YOU WANT A SHIRT, PLEASE SEND ME ALL OF THE FOLLOWING. -The size you need -If its cut traditionally for men or women (Clothing doesn't have a sex, but you know, people seem to think it does.) -Your name. Once I get an idea of prices, I will get back to you to clarify that you still want it. If you do, I will go ahead and order them and we will figure out how to do the payments and all of that. I currently do not have a PayPal or anything, but we can work something out. Also, this is only the FIRST DESIGN. I am working on two others, so if you don't care for this design and still want to support, just hang tight. Depending on how well this one blows over, I might make another one that will be available soon. I already have a handful of people off the Interwebs that would like one, so that to me is a good sign. I am incredibly excited about this and really hope you guys are too! Like I said, let me know, but please DO NOT POST YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION PUBLICLY. With this, I implore you to just message the Facebook page. I will answer all of them a soon as possible and save the information somewhere so I can keep track of anything that comes in. This morning, I was looking back at old Google Sites of mine. I was trying to find one specifically to give a friend a laugh, but then I discovered two others that I had completely forgotten about. I've said that I started really trying to do this whole journalism thing in 2010. In my memory, I started it officially some time in 2010 on Blogger (or BlogSpot as it was once called), and Immortal Music as you're currently seeing it now came in 2011. As it turns out, I was wrong. I apparently had the idea in October 2009, but didn't exactly follow through. I found a crappy little website I threw together and then barely used for two years called 'Random Bandology." What a wonderful name, right? Please note the sarcasm oozing from that question. It appears as though I started it, wrote biographies for Three Days Grace and My Chemical Romance, and then did not touch it again until August 2010. I didn't even have all my information right! What the hell. In 2009, I was sixteen and I actually have no memory of writing those and putting them on a website. Then in 2011, I decided that website was crap and I needed a new one. All I did was make the home page and apparently soon after moved onto BlogSpot and Weebly. This one was called "Music Is My Life" and apparently I had made another website called "Music = Life" that got disabled due to lack of funds on my part. Again, I don't remember this. It appears as though all of these old websites overlapped one another, and all along they haven't been fully music related. The Immortal Music on BlogSpot was used for a little bit of everything, including just random thoughts I felt like sharing. I don't really know why that was, but honestly, I still do that. I do try to keep it more relevant now, but on occasion there will be something totally unrelated. The whole point of this really was just to highlight how much things can change, and I was just baffled by the fact that this all actually started right about the same time I got really into rock music. A lot can change in just a few years, and that kind of fascinates me. |
What's this?Blogs of various topics go here, and all are written by Immortal Music's creator. You never know what you may find here, so have a look around. Archives
