I was completely blown away by the lyrics on Get Your Heart On. I've
never once called myself a fan of Simple Plan, but I would say I am a fan of this album. From just the first notes of the album, I could tell they had changed their sound, leaving it with more of a pop influence over a punk one. I simply can't get over the depth of this album though. I was hesitant to listen to the album, but a die hard Simple Plan fan sent me the track, "Astronaut", aand I was hooked from there. "Astronaut" takes feeling lonely and compares it to being an astronaut. "'Cause tonight I'm feelling like an astronaut, sending SOS from this tiny box, and I lost all signial when I lifted off. Now I'm stuck out here, and the world forgot." The whole album is greatly impressive, but my favorite track is either, "You Suck At Love" or "Last One Standing". "You Suck At Love" is very catchy, and I love how Pierre sings, "Guess What? Another game over. I got burned but you're the real loser. I don't know why I've wasted my time with you. You're bad news, a history repeater. You can't trust a serual cheater. You're good at hooking up, but you suck at love!" Now, "Last One Standing" really hit home for me. Its all about being frustrated with a friend who is fighting you. They're not gonna beat you down, or let them hurt you. In the end, you'll be the one who comes out on top. It even says, "I'm never gonna give up, and now I'm ready to go. I'm here, waiting for you, and I'm gonna be the last one standing." If you want a fun album with a ton of depth get this album! I give this album five stars.

This bandseriously needs more recongition. I discovered them because they
covered Miley Cyrus', "Party In The USA". That is not on the album, but I am so happy I discovered this album. From the title track, "Struggle + Sleep", to the final track, "Wide Awake", Life On Repeat does not dissapoint. I love the entire album, but I think I favorite track is either, "The Need , Not The Cause" or "Without You Here." "Without You Here" is one of the sweetest songs I have heard in a while by saying, "Would it be so cliche' if you took my last name? 'Cause as I get older, still nothing feels colder than winter without you here." I cant even say anything about this album I dislike -its just that good! Life on repeat is highly underrated, and I hope they get the credit they deserve one day. I recommend this album to anyone, epseically if you like rock music. I give this album five stars, as it has everything going for it. After hearing some awful reviews, I decided I wanted to review this album for
myself. Some reviews said this album was awful, like a boyband meets metal. Over all, I do like the album. It does at times have an interesting feel to it, with its metalic sound being occasionally mixed with a technoish sound. The only thing that sounded reminiscent of a boyband was honestly the non-screaming vocals. He sounds like he belongs in Big Time Rush at times. If I'm perfectly honest, I don't know how I feel about Incomparable in full. My first thought after hearing the full album was that the album was alright, but nothing special. The only track that really stood out to me a lot was, "Real & True". "You see things from a different point of view. Why should I listen to you? Why should I let you in? Why should I even trust you? We are like two different worlds apart. Won't let you in, always wait for remain. Why should I even trust you?" It questions some of the same things I myself have questioned recently. I feel the best tracks are, "Real & True", "Within My Heart" and the very sweet, "Calling". The rest of the album, for me, is left in the dust. Because I do feel they've put forward a lot of effort on the lyrics and instrumentals, I give this album four stars. I’ve never been a big fan of Seether, but Holding On o Strings Better Left To
Fray is a very good album. Much better than any other Seether album so far, if you ask me. I wouldn’t have even given the album a thought, then I heard “Fur Cue”, and “Here And Now”. I had already heard the lead single, “Country Song”, but that is more catchy than anything. As I listened to the lyrics of each track, it was like looking into Shaun Morgan’s soul. You can tell people have come and gone from his life, and some have left quite an imprint. His lyrics show that he has a heart that’s been cracked and broken more than once. My personal favorite on the track, is honestly his cry for help from whoever he was going through hardship with. “Here And Now” shows its meaning in every lyric. He shows he’s worn and torn from fighting by saying, “I’m wilted and faded after all. Too strung out and burnt out to be half the man I could be.” He also states he misses them by saying. “Memories wear me out, and this seems too complicated when all I wanted is a part of you.” In the final chorus. While every song on the album is well written, “Here And Now” is the only one that really jumped out at me. Others are catchy, such as “Country Song”, and “Tonight”. Absolutely none of them are bad, but if I had to name one, I guess I’d say “Roses” is the worst track on the album, for no reason at all. Definitely listen to this album. I give it five stars. From the first time I heard, "Die Trying", I knew I had to hear more from Art Of Dying. Their sophmore album, Vices And Virtues will not disappoint. All
eleven tracks have soulful lyrics, and great beats to back it up. Some songs are comforting, such as, "I Will Be There". It simply says, "I will be there to love you when nothing works and nobody cares." While others are inspirational, "Get Through This" says, "If I can get through this, I can get through anything." This album has everything you could possibly want in an album. Great lyrics, great instrumentals, even a guest singer. On the eighth track, "Raining", the Three Days Grace singer, Adam Gontier is featured. He sings a part of the song which his cousin, Cale Gontier plays bass in the background for. "I'm scared to be me, because I look like you. I don't wanna be somebody I never knew. I'm scared to go out, I'm so far in. I hear its nice, but I've never been." To me, that sounds as though they were saying they do not want to be like the parental unit they have. Whether its a mother or father, or someone entirely different, they don't want to turn into someone that's clearly made a bad impression on their lfie. Post Mortem is the sophomore album from the metalcore, Floridian band, Black Tide. This album is far better than their debut album, Light From Above.
It sounds as though they finally found their own sound. Light From Above sounded like generic classic rock, as though they were trying to imitate their influence, Metallica. Post Mortem has a good mix of strong guitar riffs with screaming lyrics, and slower, softer tracks, like “Take It Easy”, and “Into The Sky”. My first impression of the album said that the music was great, as were the vocals, but the lyrics needed work. That was because there was lot of times where I couldn’t understand what Gabriel was saying. It generally helps to look up the lyrics, because once you know them, that’s what you hear. Problem was, I couldn’t find the lyrics. So the first impression still stands. However, I think my favorite track is, “Walking Dead Man”, just because of how it sounds. I wouldn’t say this is the best album, but its not the worst. I do recommend it, especially over Light from Above. |
InformationAll reviews have the date they were written, the album title, and the band's name, with the exception of Life Starts Now by Three Days Grace and Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin. Those dates were guessed at, as they were written well before the website began. Archives
