Happy Discount candy day, everyone!
Valentine's day was yesterday and now all the stores have cheaper candy, and adorable fuzzy things because they wish to get rid of it!
Does anyone else feel like people take Valentine's Day a bit too seriously? Every year we hear people gushing over the sweets and cuddly things that take over the store shelves and plans they may have with someone special. Along with that, we also hear people complain that they're 'alone' and 'always will be.' I have news for you -nobody is forever alone, and you are never alone if you have friends.
Everyone has someone in their lives, even if they are not giving you the love and affection you may want. Someone is in your life, whether its an acquaintance, friend, best friend, parent, sibling, cat, dog, hamster -you get it. Unless you are living in a cave somewhere, up in a mountain, miles away from civilization, you are not totally alone.
Not to mention, the argument people tend to make in regards to being single on Valentine's day is because they see all these couples exchanging gifts and being happy. Dude, remember this -that's what today is for! Buy yourself the candy you know you like, and treat yourself right. People are often far too hard on themselves, give yourself a break! Its just one day, and most people don't even know why it is celebrated to begin with. Its just one of the first holidays of the year, that's a lot more fun when you're a kid because you get to decorate a box for school, hand out Valentine's and get a bunch back from classmates. When we grow up, we stop getting them from everyone, we get them here and there from people who actually care. If you didn't get anything -don't worry about it! Its not that nobody cares, like so many assume, its probably someone didn't know how to express their love or appreciation, or didn't have the time or money. People tend to care more than you think they do, they just forget to show it sometimes. Not everyone is good at expressing themselves, especially when they care about someone.
All of this may be directed at not feeling alone at Valentine's Day, but it seems like a good thing to remind people of. You're never alone, even if it seems like you are.
