Andy Biersack, singer for the acclaimed glam rock/ hard rock band, Black Veil Brides has released a solo album under another alias! Meet 'Andy Black', who actually made a slight debut in May 2014, with a one-off single, "They Don't Need To Understand." The song is not on this solo album, but definitely turned some heads and raised some eyebrows. As with any solo project that creeps up, a rumor rose up about a possible break up of Black Veil Brides. Fans can rest assured though, as Andy has said he wanted to do this as more of a hobby, than a career. Black Veil Brides is still his main focus, but its fun to explore other platforms as well. The Shadow Side was released on May 6 of this year, and fans have been loving it. The lead single, "We Don't Have To Dance" came out in promotion for the album in late March of this year, and the internet's interest grew even more. The song is the second track on the album, and is very fast paced and upbeat in tune. However, in meaning, I think its actually touching on the topic of social anxiety. As far as I know, Andy does not have social anixety. But then again, I don't know the man, so maybe he does and I don't know it. Or maybe, he's just speaking for those who do struggle with it as a way of saying, "Hey, I understand it, and its okay." None the less, its a great track that's a lot of fun to listen to. There's a beautiful message that is portrayed in almost every song on the album. That message is 'its okay', and 'you're not alone.' Its all very melodic and personal as well, which just brings more meaning to the surface. Some of my favorite tracks are "Homecoming King", "Stay Alive", "Put The Gun Down" and "Drown Me Out." Actually, I think "Drown Me Out" is my absolute favorite track on the album, because its just saying you're still here. Life isn't going to drown you out, even when things get tough. Instead you're going to face everything and rise. Ignore the Papa Roach reference, that was my doing, but Andy did make it perfectly clear he was going to rise above it all and be heard. I found this to be rather empowering and beautiful. The entire album has that vibe and its beautiful. Definitely go give it a listen, even if you're not a fan of Black Veil Brides. Actually, especially if you're not a fan of them because its completely different from the sound we're used to Andy working with. So, it may be a fresh new look for some people. I highly recommend you give it a chance! You can get it now on iTunes, Amazon, or in stores now! Use it as a way to get excited as well because Andy is on tour now in the UK with Creeper and will be coming to the US near the end of this month! Further information can be found on the official Andy Black website.

Coming up on May 13, is Pierce The Veil's much anticipated fourth studio album, Misadventures. Fans simply are ecstatic over this upcoming release, and have been loving the songs they've released since day one. They releases the first song, "The Divine Zero" so far in advance to the album's announcement that it felt like a one-off song. None the less, it was much loved, and was then joined by "Texas Is Forever" which is thought of to be the first real single from the album. In the first month alone the single streamed over 1.3 million times, and the first radio track, 'Circles' got over 530,000 streams in the first week alone. Its very obvious fans are ready for this release. Pierce The Veil never ceases to impress with their style, and very deep lyrics. Their lyrics have always come from a very heartfelt place, and this album follows that suit while being something completely new. Its different but in a beautiful way. This album is Pierce The Veil. It covers a lot of ground, by speaking of love, life, and the pressure people can put on you to do something. It speaks of passion, and offers hope in some unique ways. The entire album is simply incredible, and sure to impress, but as with every album, some songs spoke to me more than others. Starting with the opening track, "Dive In", which would be the perfect song to introduce people to their music. Its all about following your own path, and doing what you want, not what others are saying. Feedback is nice, but not always helpful. "And just because you're screaming for my attention does not mean I will waste my time. So hold your breath and swim under the ice. I know that its not safe here. You did this to yourself, but have no fear. Just hold your breath and swim under." Another track that really stood out was "Floral & Fading." This song is actually written for Vic Fuentes girlfriend, in an attempt to comfort her after many people said nasty things about her for absolutely no reason. Its incredibly sweet, because you can tell he really wants to just take it all away and but yet he doesn't really know how. So instead he tries to get her to point the awesome things they could do together. "So we're gonna chase the moon like fire. Yeah, together we can fake our own deaths here. Just wanna be alone and watch as you all just disappear." Forget what people are saying, it doesn't matter. Live in the moment, and focus on what does matter -each other and those who love you. I would like to talk about each track on the album, but since the album is not out until this Friday, I am going to leave you with just one last thought....Whether you've loved Pierce The Veil for years, or have never heard a single thing from them in your life, go check this album out. Its real, its emotional, its everything you could possibly want in an album. This album is Pierce The Veil at their finest. It even speaks directly to fans to offer comfort, which is what music is all about. Be sure to check out Misadventures, which comes out on May 13. You can still pre-order it now through iTunes and Pierce The Veil's official website but hurry! Time is running out! You will most definitely be impressed. |
