On October 21, 2014, Slipknot released their brand new album, The Gray Chapter and this album was highly anticipated.
Slipknot fans are going to love it, and if you are a fan of Nu-metal, heavy metal or anything along those lines, then you'll probably love it too. The album appears to be somewhat of a tribute to the late Paul Gray, and does feature a song that simply says "Goodbye." One is lead to believe that the good bye is to him. Its quite beautiful, and is definitely one of the stand out tracks on this album. The album, while it is very good, does raise some eyebrows and pose a few questions. It makes one wonder where some of the inspirations came from, and if some insanity was channeled to bring this album to life. Sometimes that's just what the doctor ordered though, right? A couple stand out tracks are "AOV" and "The Devil In Me." "AOV" would be the perfect segway into introducing someone to both Slipknot and Stone Sour all at once. There's the classic feel for both bands all rolled into one song. "The Devil In Me" is one of those songs with something everyone can relate to. It has undertones that give off a vibe that its about getting people to see the real you, and its quite powerful. Its an interesting album to say the least, and very thought provoking indeed. Be sure to pick it up now where ever music is sold, including iTunes. Also keep in mind that you can catch Slipknot at several shows, including festivals worldwide including Soundwave 2015 and Fort Rock 2015.
