After asking a few times, I was finally permitted to do an interview with Escape The Fate, and this was all around a very interesting experience. A lot could be said about it too, so I figured I may as well talk about it.
First let me say this- NOTHING is ever guaranteed at festivals. You have one time set and almost every time, without fail, it ends up being a different time. In fact, I don't think I have ever done an interview at the time we originally scheduled, now that I think of it. This, was no different. We got there around probably 12:45ish and the interview was like 1:15, I think. Somewhere around there for sure, and I honestly was so fucking worried that this was going to end up falling apart because the night before I got an email from ETF's press person asking if I would like to do an interview. I had already been confirmed for one a while before that, so them forgetting worried me a lot, but it all ended up balancing out and we just went back to the original times we had set. Not long after we left for the venue, I got a text from Escape The Fate's tour manager, confirming the interview and he made all my worries go away. I told him I would tell him when we were there, and he said he would meet us somewhere so we could get in to do the interview. When I let him know we were there, he texted me and said he was sorry but it was going to have to wait a bit because half the band up and went to the gym without any warning. I honestly really wanted to ask which half, but I refrained and said that was fine, just keep in touch with me about it. I found it really funny, if I'm honest. We actually ended up finding him and the band by going to their signing, and we just ended up hanging out waiting for them to finish and walked back to their tour bus with them. I interviewed Robert and Kevin, and you can watch that below if you want! As their tour manager was setting up though, I realized I was wearing this awful straw hat (it was like $5 and it was good to keep the sun out of my face, but it honestly was ugly) and said to my friend, "I just realized I'm wearing this ugly hat!" And struggled to get it off my head for a moment before handing it to him. Apparently Robert heard me because all the sudden he makes a face and goes, "Ugly hat?" I said, "Yeah, its nothing. Just a crappy hat my mom picked up at Walmart." I forget exactly how he worded it, but he said something that's stuck with me. He said something along the lines of, "Nothing's ugly, it how you wear it." Or something that I think was actually deeper than that. Something that really spoke about inner beauty or something. I wish I could remember exactly what he said, but alas, I cannot. The interview went great, and I actually forced the other press person to take a water bottle from me because he sincerely looks like he was going to either throw up or pass out during my interview and he admitted he didn't have anything. We parted ways and I went straight to Sons Of Reverly's RV to do an interview...that was an interesting interview that I don't think I'm going to get into. Anyways, right as we finished our interview, Escape The Fate was getting around to go on stage. I had yet to meet Craig Mabbit and really wanted to, so my best friend (who Craig actually remembered from a month previous at a Dead Rabbits show) yelled to Craig and asked if I could get a picture real quick. He happily said yes, and we actually walked to the stage with Craig, and the rest of Escape The Fate not far behind. I felt cool, not gonna lie. So, that was a fun experience! I actually did vlog that day, and a little bit near Escape The Fate, though I didn't try to get them involved. If you want to watch that, you can do so here! Thanks for reading and I will be back for another story tomorrow! We have one more week ahead of us until the 4th anniversary of Immortal Music so keep checking back for more stories! #9/ Yesterday's
