Perhaps I am the only one that does this, but I can easily spend hours daydreaming and planning what the future is going to be like. Or at least, how I want it to be. My career, all though I am still not getting paid for any of this, is really picking up, and I am beginning to fully believe that it is indeed possible that I can become just as well known, if not more so than Bryan Stars and Alternative Press combined. It won't be easy, but life isn't easy, so why would I expect it to be?
For some reason, I felt like talking about what I envision Immortal Music to be like in the future. Near or far, I am not certain, but slowly Immortal Music will be shaped into exactly what I want it to be. I want it to be a magazine one day, sold in stores just like AP does. I have enough fans now that I do believe that one day people will be subscribing, or trying every month to go to their local Hot Topic stores and book stores just trying to find the latest issue of Immortal Music. I dream big, can you tell? Right now though, I found myself thinking about what I want the office to look like. All magazines, after they get big enough, have their own office, with their own staff. Its a long way away, but one day it will happen. For now everything is made from a pen and paper, and then either a laptop that generally sits on my kitchen table, or a desktop that's in a corner of my parents bedroom. One day, I will have my own space to work with, and everyone can guarentee that it will be anything but ordinary on the inside. On the outside, it will be simple enough, I picture just a plain building, with the Immortal Music logo just above the door. For now, I see that as something like Hot Topic's old logo, only slightly different. That may be subject to change, but I am not sure just yet. I have time to figure all that out. You'd walk into the lobby of the building, and there'd be a desk in the front that also has the Immortal Music logo on it. Someone would be sitting there, and you'd probably hear some sort of music playing. The walls would be covered with concert posters, past and present covers of Immortal Music, and would be colorful. Even though Immortal Music is a darker name, and the website is currently darker, I don't just listen to and write about darker music. Color is more welcoming, so I picture all the walls to be painted a darker shade of purple, with bright, multicolored paint splatters that at strategically placed. Like it wouldn't look like someone made a mess with paint, it'd be more like, the paint splatters were painted on the walls, not flung at the wall. There'd be a little sitting area set up out there too, for people to just hang out and wait. There'd be magazines and stuff on a little table, and maybe a television on the wall. Further in would be various cubicles for the people who work there. I don't know what you could possibly see as you pass those, as I was thinking those would be decorated by whoever worked there. How I envision it is you'd go up a flight of stairs into a very large room that would be my office, and the place for all the photo shoots. There'd be a canvas on the wall, and lights set up already on one side of the room, and the other side of the room would be my desk with all my important stuff. I plan on having a prop closet and before each photo shoot, depending on the band, I'd put out different props and see what they'd do with it. In my office would also be the main controls for the sound system through out the building, which I'd like to be connected to my iPod somehow. I'd play various things on a loop all day long. Of course somewhere in the building there'd be the storage closet, bathrooms, and copy machines, all that jazz, but basically that's the idea of Immortal Music. I'd want it to be a fun, colorful atmosphere that's just all about music. It'll happen one day, just you wait and see.
