Discrimination has always been an issue in this world. Previously, it was strictly about sexism and racism, and now its about anyone who is 'different'.If you aren't tattoo and piercing free, and straight, you get judged. Frankly, everyone gets judged, and to be perfectly honest -that's a load of bullshit. People should be judged on what's on the inside -who they are, not how they look or what body parts they have. Discrimination is advised when you're trying to decide who's a good person and who is not, but otherwise, its just plain wrong. SKARLETT, an extremely devout Christian band that claims to be multiple genres, has proven their character some. This probably isn't all they are, because nobody is just one thing, but some recent posts on their Facebook page about homosexuality and preaching what God thinks is "Right", leads many to believe that they are the stereotype for all Christians. Which are judgmental assholes, that simply want to smack you over the head with the bible, in the hopes that it'll save you. With that, comes a hatred of homosexuality. Not all Christians are like this, of course, this is simply a stereotype. SKARLETT -or at least one of the members- has stated that "if gays should be allowed to marry, pedophiles should be allowed to molest children." You can see the post itself below, and others on their Facebook page. Why would anyone think its alright to say such a thing? Most fans of SKARLETT are turning into balls of fury over this, and many have said they just killed their music career by stating such crap. The band went on to attempt to explain themselves in a later post, and stated that they don't hate gays, but that they love everyone and are trying to help.
I call bullshit. If you love everyone, you'd see that two consenting people, regardless of gender, should be allowed to be together. Its not like pedophilia which is sick and wrong because a child cannot be consenting as they more than likely do not understand what is going on. They also went on to say, in a lengthy rant that "We're responsible for our own choices in this world." Or something along those lines. Okay. So tell me, when did you decide to be straight? When will people get with it enough to realize that you don't choose what sexuality you are. You just come to realize it. If you don't like "gay marriage" -don't get one! Period, point blank. End of discussion. It shouldn't even be called 'gay marriage' anyways, its not like their married life is any different from anyone else's. Its a matter of human happiness, nothing else. Build a bridge and get over it. SKARLETT seems to have already lost quite a few friends and if they keep up their conversational slurs, they might end up with hardly any. Its one thing to state your feelings, and beliefs, but its another thing to bash a whole group of people, and make some of your fans feel like outcasts. This just isn't right. Good job, SKARLETT, how does it feel that you just basically flushed your career down the toilet?

A Day To Remember has released a music video for their song "End Of Me" today on Vevo! The music video is actually a relatively normal video, unlike their "Right Back At It Again" video which was slightly random. This video is deep, and slightly angst-y -which is perfect for their genre. The boy in the video appears to be going crazy while stuck between the same four walls, and is just counting down the days until he can escape.
Watch the video for yourself here and remember that you can can catch them later this fall with Bring Me The Horizon. Almost all the VIP packages are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available for all dates. Get them now while you still can! With bands, come fans, and with fans comes their support. Part of the support in this day and age are fan pages, and Facebook appears to be removing some of them!
This was brought to attention after several fan pages directly involving All Time Low's Jack Barakat were suddenly removed from the site. The were not hacked, nor had they broken any rules, they just vanished. This was on the heels of Jack Barakat himself getting a verified Facebook page and it appears to be all Facebook's doing. All Time Low appears to have nothing to do with this, and might not even be aware of this matter. To some, this might seem like nothing, but the fact that pages are getting removed is quite upsetting to those who have worked very hard to build up said pages. One of the pages that was removed, Because Jack Barakat has restarted, but others have not. The real concern here is not that All Time Low pages will be removed all together, but that all fan pages from any band will be removed as the bands get verified. That is not alright, and frankly, bands need to be aware of this issue. Most bands adore their fans, and that they are willing to create fan made content for them. That includes fan pages, fanfictions, edited photos, and whatever else you can think of. The more content that's out there, the more promotion there is for them. Which can be nothing less than great for the band. So, the goal here is to bring awareness to this matter. Spread the word to your friends, fans if you have any, and most importantly Facebook and All Time Low. You can contact All Time Low through Facebook, and Twitter, and it is recommended that you contact the members themselves as well. You can contact the members of All Time Low directly @RianDawson, @JackAllTimeLow, @AlexAllTimeLow, and @ZackAllTimeLow. To contact Facebook, you can ironically Tweet them about it, or you can go to the drop down menu that has the log out and privacy settings and 'report a problem.' Through that you can form a complaint about fan page's disappearing. While, this might do nothing, it might actually do something. It should not be up to Facebook to decide what can stay and what can go. It should be up to the content creators, or those the content is about. Facebook is simply a third party, that frankly, should keep their mouth shut. Hopefully, if enough people bring awareness to this issue, the pages that have been removed will be restored, and no others pages in the future will be taken just because the real person it is about has gotten removed. Obviously fake accounts are understandably removed, but accounts and pages that make it clear that they are just fan pages should be allowed to stay. If nothing else, think of this -would you want something you've worked very hard on to suddenly be removed for basically no reason? More than likely, your answer was no. So, help spread the word to prevent this from happening to more people. Avenged Sevenfold is branching out from the norm for them and is releasing a video game! The game is called 'Hail To The King: Deathbat', and you will be able to play as members of the band. This includes the late, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. The game will be available this July, and the game trailer tells you more about the game than I personally can. It is a mobile game and will be available through iTunes soon. It also will feature classic Avenged Sevenfold songs (It is assumable "Afterlife" is included in that, as it says something about an afterlife in the trailer) as well as eight new ones.) Today, the 2014 Rockstar Energy Uproar festival lineup has been announced! Along with the lineup are most of the tour dates and venues, though some are still missing. For more information on that, keep an eye on the Uproar website.
There had been many rumors of the lineup, and while the rumor did not prove to be completely true, a lot of it was. The rumor proved to be true about Godsmack, Redlight King, Escape The Fate, Buckcherry, Pop Evil, and New Medicine, but was false about several others. The full lineup, and tour dates can be read below. Godsmack, Seether, Escape The Fate, Buckcherry, 3 Years Hollow, Suicide Girls, Redlight King, Skillet, Pop Evil, New Medicine, Sons Of Revelry, Within Reason, Tattered, and These Raven Skies will all be playing at Uproar this year. Uproar will be happening August 15 through September 21, at all the following dates, and some that have yet to be announced. There are not any VIP pickets going to be available this year, and it says most shows will have their gates open at 1:30pm and will go through 11pm. This may vary though. Immortal Music is planning on attending the 2014 Uproar Festival if at all possible. All Time Low is right back at it again, and while that might be an A Day To Remember reference, this has nothing to do with them. Alex Gaskarth Tweeted on June 13 that they were working on the new album once more. He also has also talked about how strange it is that it can sometimes be a challenge to write lyrics, and other times it just comes easy. You can read the Tweets below, as well as one from Jack. Instead of Jack Barakat celebrating his 26 birthday this Wednesday, he is apparently having a sweet sixteen party. Rian Dawson has been relaxing, it sounds like with Cassadee Pope and his family, while Zack Merrick went to work at Killbrand to help send out orders with his clothing line Amerrickan.
All Time Low never ceases to entertain and amaze people with their randomness, and talent. Only time will tell what this next album will be like, but surely, it shall be interesting. Summer is upon us, and the 'punk rock summer camp' as it was once known has begun! Today kicks off the first date of the 2014 Vans Warped tour. The tour kicks off in Houston, TX, at the Reliant Center Parking Lot.
Today, fans will be seeing A Skylit Drive, ATTILA, Anberlin, Air Dubai, Anthony Raneri, Bayside, Born Of Orisis, Mayday Parade, and a ton more. The full lineup can be found here. Also joining these bands on the tour are YouTubers DeeFizzy, Vincent Cyr, interviewer, Bryan Stars and thousands of fans. Keep in mind that Warped tour goes now through August 3, and tickets are still available for all dates yet to come. For more information, please visit the Vans Warped tour website. Also, for those who were unaware. Warped tour every year has a Battle Of The Bands where thousands of bands compete to get into the top 200 of the list. Winners get to play individual dates for the tour, and some will win grand prizes including a 3 song EP recorded by John Feldman, a full week spot on Warped tour 2015, gear, and more. Bands can only receive votes and play counts two weeks prior to the dates they are trying to compete for, so time is running out for most! Check out the Warped tour Battle of The Bands website now to see who's competing and cast your votes. You can vote for as many bands as you want every single day, but you can only vote for each band once per day, per email address you have. Immortal Music is directly involved with the Warped tour Battle Of The Bands this year. For more details, please check the creators blog. The other day, a rumor sparked up that A Day To Remember would be going on tour with Bring Me The Horizon and Chiodos this fall. Today, A Day To Remember confirmed this rumor. The tour is called the Parks & Destruction tour, and will begin on September 4, in Pittsburg, PA. It ends at the Hard Rock in Orlando, Florida on October 11. ADTR announced this by posting two pictures, one of which is their cover picture on their Facebook page, and a trailer about the tour. All of the dates, pictures and the trailer can be seen below, along with information pertaining to the VIP packages ADTR is offering. The trailer tour is one of the best tour announcements to ever be discovered. A park ranger discusses the bands in their natural habitats and points out that nature can be "really fucking scary" but he can help out. Its highly worth watching! Both packages of course give you your general admission ticket as well. Regular ticket prices currently remain unknown, and will stay that way through Friday the 13th. VIP packages can be purchased at adtr.com/vip/ and do not forget that you can get ADTR's latest album, Common Courtesy now wherever music is sold. A while ago, a venue in Oklahoma posted on their door what claimed to be the 2014 Uproar lineup. Since there was no other proof, Immortal Music decided not to share that rumor with people. However, the same lineup has showed up again, along with a few other possibilities including Danny Worsnop's new side project, We Are Harlot. This has not been fully confirmed by the bands or Uproar themselves, but the possible bands do seem plausible. The official announcement as stated on the official website for Uproar, will come on Tuesday, June 17.
However, the rumor currently stands as follows. Godsmack, Rob Zombie, Seether, Theory Of A Deadman, Buckcherry, Escape The Fate, Pop Evil, Redlight King, and New Medicine. Along with this rumor of those bands being completely guaranteed is that We Are Harlot, Lacuna Coil, Otherwise, Burn Halo and Cilver will be joining for the tour. Fans are saying that Seether may or may not actually be on it because they are considering doing their own headlining tour. This also does seem possible as the band does have a brand new album coming out on July 1, and they are already set up for several festivals all through Europe and the US A rumor has begun of a possible tour that is headlined by A Day To Remember, and supported by Bring Me The Horizon and Chiodos. The rumor states that it shall be called the "Parks & Devastation tour" and will be happening in Fall 2014. The full list of tour dates is not out, but five dates were "leaked".
09/04 Pittsburgh, PA – Stage AE – Outdoors 09/08 Albany, NY – Washington Ave Armory 09/15 Grand Rapids, MI – The DeltaPlex Arena 10/06 Nashville, TN – Bridgestone Arena 10/10 Orlando, FL – Hard Rock Orlando 10/11 Orlando, FL – Hard Rock Orlando None of the bands have commented on this yet, so it is nothing more than a rumor as of right now. There is some speculation as to if there is any truth to this rumor or not. Mostly because it is very rare that bands would ever play the same venue two nights in a row, even if it is in their hometown/ area. It does happen, it is just not very common. While this tour sounds plausible, and quite awesome, its still in question as of right now. Hopefully one of the bands release a statement about it soon. |
