As summer turns into fall, and all the summer tours are coming to an end, release season comes into effect. Fall seems to be a very popular time for releases of all sorts of content from musicians. There's a lot of awesome content being released, so let's get into this.
Semi Precious Weapons released a new song, "Brando." The song is going to be featured on a yet to be titled album that is set to come out this fall. The song is being streamed now, but it will not be available for radio play, or to own until August 26. "The song 'Brando' is not only inspired by the man himself, but also uses him and some of his movies as metaphors for a very over the top intense relationship I had with my last boyfriend," said singer Justin Tranter. We Came As Romans announced that the pre-order for a live DVD they filmed at the House Of Blues in Chicago is now available. The DVD is called Present, Future, and Past, and will be released September 2 on Equal Vision Records. The DVD features content from a recent headlining tour they did, and you can check out a previous of it right now. The Christian metalcore band, Fit For A King will be releasing a brand new album, Slave To Nothing on October 14, and have recently been campaigning on Twitter to get fans to unlock a brand new song. Fans apparently delievered on that, as the band has now posted a song teaser on Instagram. You can check out the song here, whether or not you have an Instagram account. With the trailer is also the album artwork. There has also been releases from Counting Crows, Xerxes, Sleepwave (ex-Underoath), and so many more that were not mentioned here. Its that season again! Who are you hoping to hear new music from? Leave a comment, letting me know here or over on Facebook.

Recently, Nickelback returned to the music scene by releasing a brand new single! The singl is called "Edge Of A Revolution" and with that announced they have signed with a different record label. They will releasing their eighth studio album this fall on Republic Records.
This new song is quite hard hitting, even if people don't like Nickelback. Its real, and empowering, Not to mention, catchy. The song says, "No we won’t lay down and accept this fate, cause we’re standing on the edge of a revolution." Which is very empowering, but it also says, "Same shit, different day. Can't keep fed if I can't get paid. We'll all be dead if the shit don't change." That alone is something a lot of people can relate to, and then they go right into the chorus. Nickelback might get a lot of hate, but most people need to step back and realize that this song is highly relatable. In regards to the new album, Chad Kroeger was quoted saying, “We are very excited to be releasing new music for our fans and feel it’s some of our strongest material to date. During the recording process as we looked toward the next chapter, it became clear that Monte, Randy and the entire Republic / Universal team had a shared vision and passion for this project. Their track record of artist development speaks volumes to their success and we are honored to be partners with them.” Be on the look out for a brand new album from Nickelback coming this fall, and keep in mind that many other artists are working on releases for this fall as well. More information can be found here in regards of that. After a hiatus that felt a bit like an eternity, Breaking Benjamin is back in action. No album release date has been released, nor has any real details but the band has now posted a teaser trailer via Facebook. Along with this trailer, came a new profile and cover picture for their page.
Some fans, for some odd reason assumed that Breaking Benjamin was back without Ben, but he clearly is still in the band. For starters, he is in the teaser trailer, and two he owns the rights to the name "Breaking Benjamin." He himself came up with the name years, and years ago, after he broke a mic stand and it just sort of came up. Or so the rumors state, that is. So, it is confirmed -Breaking Benjamin is BACK IN ACTION. Fans are now anxiously anticipating new material from the band. The band's lineup now consists of Shaun Foist, Aaron Brunch, Jason Rauch, Keith Wallen (formerly of Adelitas Way) and of course, the one and only Benjamin Burnley. Fans know that there was some internal issues involving the band themselves but everything is fixed now and we will be able o enjoy brand new music from Breaking Benjamin soon! Haven't seen the trailer yet? You can view it now via Facebook! Michael Cera -that's a name most people know in this world. He is most known for his quirky characters, such as Scott Pilgrim and Pauly Bleeker from Juno. Now, however, he is branching out into the music world.
For some reason, it does not come as a shock that he is releasing an indie folk album. A link to it was Tweeted by Johan Hill last night, with the caption, "Not only is he a brilliant actor, he also makes brilliant music." The link takes you to Michael Cera's Band Camp page, where you can hear the entire 18 track album, True That. With this album, of course, comes some humor. His Bandcamp page's bio states, "Michael Cera was born in Canada in 1988 at the tender age of zero." Really? You don't say! I thought you were born at age 152, and slowly aged backwards. Just kidding. You can currently only get this album by streaming it on the Bandcamp page, because apparently he chose to do this album in the absolute most DIY way possible. Keep your eyes peeled for a review of this album soon here on Immortal Music. Well, Westboro Baptist church is at it again. They're constantly in the news, causing some irrational havoc but they have been making their way into the music news for a while. As far as Immortal Music is aware, they didn't start causing drama with bands until the 2013 Warped Tour, after ATTILA released their song, "Callout", and called Westboro out as the closing part of the song. They attempted to picket their set at a select date, but Kevin Lyman stopped them from getting in. Rumors said that one man did manage to get in, but nearly got his ass beat by pissed off fans.
Recently, they attacked Panic! At The Disco and actually did protest one of their shows. Panic! At The Disco, however, responded to this threat in a brilliant way. They said for every member of the church that came to protest them, they'd donate $20 to the Human Rights Campaign. To irritate them more, when they announced this via Twitter, they used the hashtag, "#pride2014." Then band ended up donating about $1000, and totally ignored the WBC's claims of there being a "Panic! At the second coming of Christ." The church also wasted their time making a parody of "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", and twisted the lyrics so it was against gay marriage. "Oh! You all say it's okay to be gay/ The way to fag marriage has been paved/ Well this calls for some truth, now/ You're all insane." Its pathetic really. And their pathetic antics contiune. Today it has come out that they have written another parody! This one is of Fall Out Boy's "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs." They changed the time from "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs." to "Thnk Gd Fr Vrything." When are they going to realize they are doing no good with their homophobic, asshole-ish ways, and just stop? Clearly, they use too much of their brain cells hating people to actually stop and see what's really right. For anyone curious, here is their re-write of "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs." Trust me, its not that good. It kind of sucks, actually. If you're going to make a parody, at least do a good job. And especially don't take a song such as this and make it full of religious slander. "The cords you cast and bands you break (rage and imagine a vain thing) Say a prayer but you won’t eat the roll You think God doesn't know? Shut his people up, won’t make things right ‘cause it's your wrongs that show you need the bread of life "Who does he think he is?" If that's the way you think then God Almighty’s your enemy One God, one truth, one way Thank God for everything To the Lord our praises sing "His word like honey, only sweeter," He wounds, heals, makes alive and kills Thank God for everything, Thank God for everything "The voice of God breaketh the cedars” Look close at your eternal future But your eyesight is goin’ bad You’re headed to Hell Follow your lusts and us ignore Your time to repent (repent will pass) The chaff he’ll fan (chaff he’ll fan) One God, one truth, one way Thank God for everything To the Lord our praises sing "His word like honey, only sweeter," He wounds, heals, makes alive and kills Thank God for everything, Thank God for everything "The voice of God breaketh the cedars” You think abomination has some strength in numbers? Like that Great Whore, paying all her lovers His word is out of mind and His hatred only grows Instead of obeying God, your filthy sins you pursued, whoa One God, one truth, one way Thank God for everything To the Lord our praises sing "His word like honey, only sweeter," He wounds, heals, makes alive and kills Thank God for everything, Thank God for everything "The voice of God breaketh the cedars” One God, one truth, one way (One God one truth one way) Thank God for everything To the Lord our praises sing "His word like honey, only sweeter." (Oh) One God, one truth, one way (One God one truth one way) Thank God for everything, Thank God for everything (Thank God for everything, Thank God for everything) "The voice of God breaketh the cedars” (Oh)" They also plan on protesting Fall Out Boy's show in Kanas City, Missouri on August 9. If you're planning on going to that show, please feel free to tell those homophobic assholes what you think of their bullshit. Hey, Westboro Baptish -fuck you too. He tastes like you, but sweeter. And by "he", I don't mean God, I mean any member of Fall Out Boy. Here's to hoping Patrick Stump uses his polite powers to "polite" them to death. While the title might actually be a Fall Out Boy reference, this actually has nothing to do with Fall Out Boy. Sorry about the misleading title -it seemed fitting! The reason that seemed fitting is Mayday Parade announced a tour called "The Honeymoon Tour" and that Fall Out Boy lyric automatically came to mind when the tour name showed up on the computer screen. The tour is one month long, beginning on October 14, ending on November 14. Joining Mayday Parade on this tour are Tonight Alive, Major League, and Pvris. Tickets are on pre-sale now for all dates and this does include VIP packages! You can get them all now on Applauze. Tickets officially go on sale this Friday (August 8.)
