Close Your Eyes has parted ways with their current singer, Sam Ryder! Sam posted the following statement on the band's Facebook page on December 15 regarding the whole thing. With that came an announcement that the original frontman of CYE, Shane Raymond would be returning to the band. The band themselves did not state that he will be back forever, but their guitarist, Brett Callaway said in the comments that Shane will be involved with anything they do in the future.
They also announced that they will be playing the 2015 South By So What?! Festival. Shane posted on their Facebook sayng this, "Ok, so here it is! We will be playing South By So What 2015! It will be March 20-22 at Quick Trip park in Grand Prarie, Texas. Here is a message from Shane: I cannot begin to say how excited I am that Close Your Eyes will be performing at South by So What this year! Even more so, I cannot express how grateful I am to be sharing the moment with some of my dearest friends and brothers once again. It's going to be a blast! Hold on to your butts..." You can be prepared for big things from them in the future, surely. Papa Roach is streaming a third song that will be featured on their upcoming album 'F.E.A.R', and it is called "Broken As Me." This song appears to be about holding on to someone, when part of you wants to give up on them because you can tell they need someone still. Guess your weakness still is that you care too much, huh?
"I will forgive, forget, because it will set me free. But all that is left is the emptiness inside of me." Only three songs have been released so far, but its already a given that this song is going to be incredible. Hard hitting, and definitely something everyone can relate to. The album comes out January 27, and its definitely one that you don't want to miss out on. Welcome To Rockville is just about the biggest festival to happen annually in Florida. This is a big event, not only because there are so many incredible bands playing, but because Slipknot and Breaking Benjamin are both fresh off hiatuses. Breaking Benjamin has not been to Southwest Florida since 2010, and it appears as though Slipknot has not come to Florida in even longer. The tickets that are currently available are $59.50, but will soon go up to $74.50. VIP is also available for $99.50, or $225. The VIP tickets include a separate entrance into the venue, access to the VIP lounge area that features a dedicated bar, beverage and food services. Taxes and service fees do apply, so keep that in mind when purchasing your tickets. Some extra thoughts regarding Fort Rock 2015 can be found here, for anyone who is interested in hearing what Immortal Music personally thinks. What do you think of the lineup? Let us know in the comments below! Also know that all of these bands will be joining the 2015 lineup for the 2 days festival in Jacksonville, FL, Welcome To Rockville. For more details, please go here. People forget sometimes that musicians are real people, and that honestly their jobs are not easy. It seems easy when they're rocking out on stage, or signing autographs but the process to get to those incredible moments is quite the challenge. Just getting off the ground is among the hardest parts of the job, and with something like that, they really need help.
Mindset Evolution, a very talented rock band from Peoria, IL has a goal to set up a tour and get to go all over to see their fans. Problem is, they need to raise the funds to do so and time is running out. They need a vehicle in order to do this, and other funds just to support it. They have started a Kickstarter, in an attempt to raise $10,000 so they can make this possible. The fundraiser ends Christmas eve, and they still have quite a long way to go. Its still possible though, because every little bit counts. To some they might just be another band, but Immortal Music got to see and meet these guys at Uproar 2012 and was very impressed by them. They deserve more attention, as do thousands of other bands out there. You can support them all, just by spreading the word. Or you can donate, if you feel you are capable of it. Even just talking about it and helping bring the cause to people's attention could seriously help. Everyone has a dream, right? Everyone deserves to make their dreams become reality, and if you can help someone make their's become a reality -why wouldn't you? If nothing else, at least check out Mindset Evolution. They have their own website, and are on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and iTunes. Their Kickstarter, for those who are interested can be found here. There is a video from their singer, Rob, explaining it all on the Kickstarter page, as well as on Facebook. A video was brought to the attention of Immortal Music today. The band We Are Triumphant uploaded it, but as it turns out, a man named Jared Dines is the one that uploaded it. This video has been up since October 11, and its pretty accurate for the most part. Jared decided to demonstrate ten different vocal styles of metal music, including hair metal, grindcore, metalcore, post hardcore, and more. All while using more traditional pop punk lyrics, stereotypes revolving around metal, and a hateful rendition of the Barney "I love you" song. Maybe this isn't 'news', but its definitely worth sharing. It is also worth mentioning that Jared is in a band all of his own called Dissimulator if you would like to see what else he does.
So, what do you think of the video? Did he do the genres justice or did he disappoint you? Let us know (respectfully!) in the comments. |
